So I've got Tuvan throat singers on that Wednesday, an opera at Northwestern on Thursday, and this on Saturday.

Anybody know of any jug bands or anything playing that Friday?

Could be a solid opportunity to catch JORR, followed by a burger at Sam's...or vice versa, depending on when HY goes on.

Alpine Valley seems like it is hosting more concerts this year than it has the last several. I like the venue so I’m glad to see it. I really thought it was going to shut down.

I think we'll be one of the later bands. Definitely after 6:00.

IIRC, they shut down for a season to fix it up a bit...reopened last year maybe.

I really like that venue, too.

Alpine Valley is great....unless it rains. You get a big rain, you are stuck in the parking lot (mud) waiting to pay a local with a tractor to pull you out.

It was great when you could spend the night. Rather than a tent, I drove up a pickup with a cap in the bed. Tossed in a twin mattress and slept luxuriously.

GoldenJet has the right idea, here.

I'm all about supporting all the bands in a bill, but getting my wife to sit through hours of punk bands, might not be in my best interests. She's a good sport usually, but 2 hours may be the limit here.

If you get a better idea of when HY will play, please let us know. It would be fun to make this happen.

It looks like the bands will be playing from 3 to 9. The guy has us scheduled for 6:30 but you know how that goes.

Can they shut the fuck up and play instrumentals only? Would be decent then.

Didn't get the reserved but just snagged 4 on Tickmaster for Thursday...30 bucks more, but don't care as I get a chance to see Stewart Copeland play drums live again. Les and Trey are cool too ;)
