Is that positive enough for you?

I know he is more succinct than the nonsensical, rambling, indulgence of your beloved Zepplin. At least Seger wouldn't steal your money by selling you a band hockey jersey, even though he is a much bigger fan of hockey as a Detroit guy

Go to Katmandu, and then kill yourself.

I have a friend who likes to say, "Here's the thing about Bob Seger, either you love him or you hate him."

Was a Seger fan until this song came out in 1975, when I was four and a half. After that, I couldn't stand to listen to this colonizer's "music."

It's catchy, though, and, in spite of myself, when I am riding the Pace bus to Kohl's to buy some new threads, I'll sit on the back of the bus and chant, "I'm going to Ka-Qa-Kohl's."

Mac's bad takes on culture are legion.

That's pretty much accurate

Yes. Really if I think about it the only problem I have with any classic rock is when I hear it too often. XM/Sirius seems to go on periods of time where some songs get stuck in a couple times a day rotation for a few weeks. I am like can I just drive to work without Don't Fear the Reaper?

I would have thought Seger would be right in Mac's classic cuts wheelhouse.

Seger's got some great lyrics for greying men like us.

I'm indifferent on him. Some good tunes, some dogfood.

I wouldn't necessarily say he "rocks" though. He is good and I enjoy some of his stuff.

Mac has such limited tastes in music that his opinion's on anything outside of about 3 or 4 bands are worthless. It's like asking a vegan for a restaurant recommendation.

I like "Night Moves" but it doesn't sound like any other Seger.

He's right there with Mellencamp as a poor man's Springsteen.

I'd rather listen to three hours of Seger than one hour of Springsteen.

I disagree. It is quintessential Seger.

I can't really stand him...but I can sing along to most of his lyrics. Similar to Journey, Kevin Cronin heavy REO, Molly Hatchet, etc.

I disagree.

He's fine. He's not terrible, but he's not appointment listening either.

I agree, he's better than Pink Floyd.

I would say "quintessential Seger" is faux Chuck Berry. "Night Moves" is something else.

This.

I stopped listening to even a minute of anything Zepplin decades ago for this very reason. Seger, I can take or leave, meh.

Generally do not like him. Some of it is cringeworthy...Shakedown, Old Time Rock n' Roll. ugh. he's got a few good ones, though. I like "we've got tonight" "ramblin gamblin man"

Nah. I think many may think that way because they associate his music with the Tom Cruise scene in Risky Business. He has just as many if not more songs that are closer to Night Moves in tempo and feel than they are to the over-played Old Time Rock and Roll.

I couldn't believe it when WLS had Turn the Page as the #1 song of all time when they did one of their Memorial Day 500 countdowns.
