Bears should take the best QB available in the 2nd round. If that is Dak Prescott, great. If he is GONE then they need to take the highest rated QB on their board.

Dak Prescott isn't in the draft, silly!

With the cap hits the Bears really can't cut both guys, although their play last season dictates they should.

Conklin is a free agent OT from the Titans.

It's impossible if the Bears don't want to eat any money.

With Massie and Leno, you have to cut one. You simply cannot run them out there for 14+ games again and expect to win. Cut one, eat the $, and make the other your backup swing tackle. Then draft Oline and get some UDFA Olinemen into camp.

I agree Frank....that's why I thought it was such an idiotic statement. You have to cut bait on a mistake even it means eating some money. Leno is bad....I'd drop him and worry about replacing. Massie gets one more season or he gets cut the following season.

Agreed with GJ on coaching and scheme, but the talent is also highly underwhelming. They have to draft OT at 43

Jake Fromm says playing for Chicago Bears would be like 'home away from home'

Former Georgia star Jake Fromm isn't the top-ranked quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft. In fact, he's not even ranked in most draft analysts' top-five. But for a Bears team looking to add competition for Mitch (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky this offseason, he could be an ideal target in the second round after the bigger-name gunslingers come off the board.

The Bears have the benefit of some advanced scouting on Fromm. Several of his former college teammates are currently on the roster, including Leonard Floyd, Roquan Smith, Javon Wims and Riley Ridley.

"What more could you ask for?" Fromm said when asked about a potential reunion with Wims and Ridley in Chicago. "To play with those guys, especially two of the guys I've thrown the ball to. I've gone up against Roquan every single practice. It would kind of be like home away from home."

Huh? He's going to be horrible.

Unless the Packers select him, in which case he will continue the HOF tradition.

That’s a bad opinion. I’m a packers fan saying what I said above. Fromm will never be a star but he looks built in the Cousins/Teddy B/Drew Lock mold where he should be a good starter with a solid floor. He seems very underrated to me so far in the draft.

Couldn't disagree more, you could hide this guy on an extremely talented Georgia team.. there's no hiding in the NFL. This guy sucks

Report: Packers planning a run at Austin Hooper
It looks like Austin Hooper‘s going to a popular name in the NFC North when free agency opens next month. Rob Demovsky of ESPN reports that the Packers plan to make a run at the tight end. That comes after another report that indicates the Bears have also targeted Hooper as a player they’d like to add to their offense.

I've been on the Hooper train for a while. FF laughed and said that he wouldn't be a free agent. He's exactly what the Bears need.

If FF says something will "never" happen in the NFL you can be 100% assured that it will indeed happen.

I think the Bears need to say no to positional need and get themselves one of these WR in the second round. There is so much good there. I can't even have a "my guy" in the mid second because the combine numbers have moved so many WR up it is impossible to tell who will be there.

I now think TE should be addressed in FA and not the draft.

I also have changed my position on Jalen Hurts and would be happy if the Bear got him in the second.

How about a second round of Hurts and Denzel Mims

I'd be stunned if the Bears used a high pick on a QB while Mitch is on the team. That's just asking for trouble. I think it's more likely that they will sign some aging bum as a back-up and give (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky one more shot. At best they might gamble on a high ceiling guy from a small school with a lower round pick and stash him on the PS.

Yes, but everything up until the Jalen Hurts insanity was right on the money in GD’s post.

Agreed. I think they will sign a backup, I'm guessing Keenum, before the draft and use a UDFA or a low pick on a QB.
