Hurts may slide due to his injury history, but likely would need a year to fully recover, would be OK with him, just do not want them taking Fromm in 2nd round. No TE stood out at the combine, and it's hard for a TE to come in and make an immediate impact, so likely they will go FA route. Looks like a quality WR or OLB may slide down, and as much as I hate picking WR early, we really need speed at that position. Still think the Floyd decision is huge, he's due a ton of money for not a whole lotta of production.

WRs in the 2nd round isn't early. 2nd round seems to be the sweet spot for nice WRs.

I now think TE should be addressed in FA and not the draft.

I also have changed my position on Jalen Hurts and would be happy if the Bear got him in the second.

How about a second round of Hurts and Denzel Mims

Welcome aboard on Hurts, now get on board with Hopkins.

I'd be stunned if the Bears used a high pick on a QB while Mitch is on the team. That's just asking for trouble. I think it's more likely that they will sign some aging bum as a back-up and give (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky one more shot. At best they might gamble on a high ceiling guy from a small school with a lower round pick and stash him on the PS.

Even an " aging bum" would be too much pressure on Mitch, whoever the backup QB is will be a fan favorite by week 3 after Mitch continues to fuck us

Maybe but there won’t be reporters asking Mitch and Nagy about the backup before the season has even started. And there won’t be endless callers to the Score demanding that Keenum or some other bum should get time as a starter to see what he can do and to get him ready to take over next year.

My back of the draft qb are Kelly Bryant from Missouri or Bryce Perkins from Virginia

Yeah. To pay an older back up QB 15 to 20 million would be stupid. And that's the going rate for these guys.

Spend that money else where.

Give (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky one more year. And then if it fails, you figure it out next year.

There are no good QB options. I don't want Dalton. Brady isn't coming here. I wouldn't want his old ass anyway. Same with Rivers. Bridgwater isn't as good as people think. Don't pay these guys. It's a waste of money. Certainly don't trade for one which you might have to do with Dalton.

Pace will probably be fired if it fails miserably with (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky next year anyway. He knows that. But he has to give him one more year.

It is what it is. We have to ride with (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky. Hopefully the kid figures it out.

What "older BACKUP QB" right now is making 20 million?? Tyrod Taylor is 2 years at 11 mil, Bridgewater is 1 year 7.2 mil, Tannehill is 1 year 5.4 mil, Hoyer is 3 years 4.8 mil.... etc.

If we signed a QB like Dalton, it would be for a lot more than just a back up role.

Yes, we all missed it. You are the first person to mention anything about bringing in a veteran QB.

Finally heard Nagy's combine presser and he basically said Mitch still doesn't know the offense and that they coddled him too much last year, a pretty damning thing for a coach to say about a QB. Nagy and Pace cannot afford another year like last year, especially Nagy the supposed offensive genius whose offense regressed to the bottom of the league, they almost have to bring in a vet that can run the offense. Seems like someone sat Pace and Nagy down and told them both the honeymoon is over and that if ownership is gonna spend tons of money on defensive players they better have an offense that is at least competitive.

How much do you think Daniel is mfing Mitch right now. If Mitch had shown progress, Daniel would have gotten another 2-3 year contract. Now, there is a pretty good chance that he gets nothing.

Yup. Daniel is the perfect guy to back up a good QB if he gets injured, but not good enough to push someone like (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky to be better.

They went all in on Mitch last year and it failed miserably. If they bring in a vet and allow for a fair competition in training camp it's highly likely that Mitch crumbles under the pressure and loses the starting job early next year. You really need to draft a young QB to develop because the Vet is not a long term answer and there would be no way you could go back to Mitch if he loses the starting job. QB decision this off season could derail the franchise for the next 3-5 years if they screw it up.

I could see them drafting a late round QB, but if Nagy/Pace don’t get it together this year then you have a new regime coming in who will most likely find a whole new roster of QBs to work with.

It’s an indictment on the coach and the scheme too that it takes so long to learn this offense, and he hasn’t been able to teach it well. That alone would have been a hard ‘pass’ for me interviewing him a couple years back. This is football, not rocket science. If your playbook is too complicated to understand by time the preseason starts you aren’t any good to the team you’re coaching.

Nagy is part of the problem. He’s becoming the Jay Cutler of coaches with all the excuses I hear/read for him.

Maybe Mitch is just a bimbo, Wentz, Mahomes didn't struggle with their playbooks. Part of me believes Nagy wanted to expose Mitch last year so Pace was forced to draft a QB or 2 this draft..and Nagy will be making that decision, not numbnuts Pace.

I agree with Nagy being a part of the problem. Mitch was rated in the top 2 or 3 QB's in his draft class and Nagy was hired because he was a guy who could develop a young QB (even though there was never much evidence to this fact). Why it is certainly possible scouts missed with Mitch, it's also possible Mitch would be much farther along with a better coach.

Mitch wasn't the only one confused on offense last year. How many times would you see offensive lineman go in the wrong direction, miss blocks or have defenders running free in the backfield. How many times would you see Bear receivers bunched in the same area on passes. We all saw how much the Bears struggled in running the football. This team rarely went into a game looking sharp on offense. That is lack of preparation, and that falls solely on our offensive minded head coach.

Try not to break bank signing Hooper, but do break the bank on #CONKLIN2020.

Pick 43 = Best available OT
Pick 50 = Best available WR... Or maybe CB

Conklin is the obvious move, and Pace does like his obvious mo es. I'm optimistic, if he could close on Mack and Robinson he can close on Conklin.
