8:45 Saturday morning at Coyote Run. I got new shoes over the winter and they are like walking/swinging on pillows. Putting together my new pull cart tonight. Looking forward to walking MANY rounds this season.

We actually have two spots available if anyone in the burbs cares to join.

What kind of cart? I have two ClicGear and I love them. You may want to wear an older pair of shoes if it’s still a bit soupy out there. Just saying. I am doing some math to figure out what pass to buy. I may go with a lower plan so I can travel around and play other places. Maybe even meet up with some of you cretins on the IL side.

It's a Callaway. Don't remember the exact kind. I sent my wife like 3 links for xmas and she bought one of them. I have two pairs of shoes- Etonic and a New Balance. I also sprayed water proofing on them to help. I figure the Etonic will be my 'crap weather' shoes, and the New Balance will be the sunny shoes.

My Addidas from last year were like wearing bricks compared to these two. I still will keep them though as a backup just in case.

I may have to walk thru a bit of mud Sat but will avoid it if I can. I also won't be hitting balls out of mud as conditions will sometimes warrant a drop here and there.

some big changes for me this year. No more Lawsonia :(

But on the plus side just bought a house in Deerfield which will put me minutes away from golf as opposed to being 45 minutes away. Looking forward to getting out a lot more and also being able to hit up Deerfield practice area after work whenever i want.

Saw this after I posted in your selling the condo thread. Do you have your eye on any course to join out there?

There are so many nice courses, it's tough to justify a season pass at any one of them. Even if they're in your back yard.

not at this point. If we get 2 puppies as planned in June our summer will be pretty busy raising the dogs. Besides that I've got a lot of furniture to buy as well as wanting to fix up the finished basement and make it a little nicer...and of course get some really nice home theater set ups for 2 rooms. Golf budget gonna take a hit for a while.

9 holes and/or twilight rounds will become your friend before long.

yep, very much looking forward to being able to come home after work and grab the clubs for a quick 9 hole walking round. My after work Wednesday league is down for the year with Sportsman being closed for remodel so I'll be wide open for that.

Pretty sure it’s gonna be a frost delay this morning. 8:30 tee time will more likely be 9:30. Should be interesting with the chill, early season and trying to change swing. I think I’ll be happy if I can break 84. I have a tee time tomorrow at Bonnie Brook so really looking forward to that. I haven’t played there in years and strongly considered joining. I still haven’t bought my pass but pretty sure I’ll go back to Kenosha Co.

77 so I’ll take it ( par 70). Actually kept the balls near the fairway and other than one double and a few bad putts it worked out. Pretty windy and wet but good to get out.

Not sure exactly how I did it but carded a 73 today. Stayed out of all trouble and chipping next two the hole pretty much all day. Made two birdies which helped. So far the new driver has been keeping me in play. Feeling pretty optimistic about the swing changes this far but it will be a whole new ball game with warm weather and dry conditions. Hope some of you guys got out there today.

You're supposed to ease into this.

This has happened many times before where I get out to a good start but when the putting becomes tougher and the ball rolls further from the fairway my real game comes back. I’ll take any solid scores I can get. Definitely check it out Jet.

Frost delay on Saturday, but made it out to Coyote Run. Didn't really keep score on the front 9, as neither myself nor the friend I played with had played since early October. Took a couple of extra shots here and there, some good and some bad. My guess is I would have been right around 50 if we were putting pencil to paper.

Got a par on #9 and then continued pretty decent play with 4 more pars on the back 9 to card a legit 42. My short game is all out of whack. MANY three putts and a couple of poor chips. But that is all feel and we had basically no warm up and just hit the first tee after the delay. I'm sure the short game will get better. The wind affected things a bit, but didn't make thing unfair or too cold. Brilliant sunshine and I really enjoyed walking the course. I am looking forward to more walking rounds this season. Outside of a few spots here and there, Coyote was very dry. Greens were a bit on the slow side, but had been cut and rolled.

Really nice to get the season started early and with some good shots. Weather looks iffy at best the next ten days or so, and I'm pretty busy thru Easter. Hoping to squeeze in at least one round, and/or possibly a couple of nine holers.

Went to the range on Sunday then played about 4 holes. I'm working on shallowing my swing plane. Had been doing indoor drills during the winter, but my first time hitting full shots outside. Pleased with what I see so far (a few shanks notwithstanding).

Tbone shoots a 73 on March 8th. Hawg Stricker is sure to be along shortly to tell us about a 75 he threw up.

Funny game

No, this is not myself or shakes, or Ugie, or Don, or any other CFMB'er. This is a PGA Tour Pro;

Played saturday at Moody Gardens Golf Course - Galveston.

What follows is no lie.

There are 5 par 3's on this course. I played those 5 holes to 3 over.

The other 13 holes I played to 37 over...

Got somewhat drunk though, so that was cool.

Hawg's clubs are still in the travel bag from when I went home over Christmas.

I wish you guys didn't post that. Ruined my day. Just watching that gave me anxiety.

No plans to play this weekend. Temps in the mid 30s doesn’t even sound fun to golf.

There are no days in the next 10 that look appealing.
