Peters? The Eagles are letting him test the free agent market. Do you kick the tires for a season considering they have a similar offense?

You want a starting LT who is as old as WWN?

Better than Leno, cheap, knows the offense and only needed for a year.

He was a huge factor in Philly beating us in the playoffs, one of the few guys that was able to shut Mack down without help. The ultimate dancing bear (no pun intended), a big guy with great feet, even at his advanced age he is an upgrade from Leno if the price is right, but just a one year band aid.

Peters is a LT and Conklin is a RT. You're not signing Conklin to move him to LT.

.........

I don’t think you can afford both, and Hooper.

Might as well draft an OT at 43, and hope he can beat out Leno.

You could bring in both and the offensive line would be significantly better

You'll be able to cut Leno and Massie and use that money to find a replacement LT if you haven't already drafted a replacement.

Why not save a little bit of money, and draft someone you hope can play LT?

Peters has had some major injuries, and is 38 years old.

If there was a way to cut either of the bums the Bears currently have then yeah I’m down with your scenario.

However,

You make it sound like this is impossible. It's not. Leno's play last year was average in his best games, and he was one of the most penalized OL in the entire league. Even for a rookie in the second round, that isn't a real high bar to get at.

I just had a Marc Colombo flashback is all.

How much of a cap saving would you get from cutting one or both?

If they can draft the Colombo who played for the Cowboys, that would be a good thing. The Colombo for the Bears were awful.

Still, not as bad as;

The Bears would have a dead cap hit of like $17M but it would save them about $2M.

We're stuck for this year with Burton, Massie and Leno.

You look at that gif and many more plays and it becomes even more clear. With the injury at first and then consider line play how is anyone convinced with so much certainty that Mitch is good or bad? Or that there isn't more improvement there?
