If the Sox lose this game, I can just imagine what fans are going to be asking Chris Rongey on the postgame show...Nick Masset now in relief of Linebrink in the bottom 12th. LOL!

Nope. Massett. I just think this might be a long game. I thought Linebrink could recover and he can do 2 innings once in a while.

Massett can go 3 or 4 I guess.

Olivo grounds into a force play...Top 13th coming up in a 7-7 tie and "The Insider" wonders why his show will be bumped on WCIU...

We better Score a few here in the 13th.

Masset looks bad. He's gonna give up at least one in the bottom of the 13th.

I'm nervous myself, and this bullpen has been taxed tonight, win or lose.

Alexei Ramirez just beat out an infield hit! 4 hits tonight for the Sox second baseman!

Line drive for Cabrera, and Ramirez scores again from first...8-7 Sox on Orlando's RBI double!

Look at Alexi.

Speed is good.

He scores from 2nd on a sac fly. He scores from 1st on a hit and run.

Gotta love it.

Another fuckin' pop up by Quentin. He was on it. He's just pulling off. He'll get back on track. He's close.

Now lets win this fucker.

Pierzynski grounds out to advance Cabrera, but Quentin pops out to end the top 13th and a dicey 8-7 White Sox lead...

Esteban German beats out an infield hit and the tying run is at first in the bottom 13th.

Shark, why do you write like a reporter? Please answer that?

Masset is gonna fuck this up like I said. We needed at least 2 runs.

I'm actually listening to the Farmer/Stone call as I type this...It's the first time I've been typing and listening to the White Sox in real time.

I know but you always write like you are a reporter. You say "Nice hit by Alexi, the Sox 2nd baseman."

You'll say "Larry Holmes of 670 The SCORE." Why do you do that?

I knew Masset would fuck it up.

Get the fuckin double play. Or at least just let up 1 run and see if we can get 4 so you have a bigger margin for error in the 14th.

Holmes hates being called Larry! Grudzilanek just hit into a double play and a 8-7 White Sox win!

Shit. They win it.

Masset pitched the ugliest scoreless 2 innings I've ever seen.

Beardown, it was ugly, but the Sox will take the win, one way or the other! I believe Javier Vazquez is on the spot tomorrow night, weather permitting, with the overworked bullpen in this 13 inning marathon. It helps because Minnesota also lost in Boston...a 2 1/2 game lead for the White Sox in a marathon that lasted about 4 and a half hours!

Shark, if you won't answer my question: Why do you write like a reporter? Could you at least say that you refuse to answer that question. Or just answer the question.

I think it is clear that Linebrink is not a closer. He is now 1 for 4. Let Dotel try it...or Thorton. I honestly think they need to make a move to shore up the bullpen. This back issue with Jenks is cause for concern. Backs can linger and flair up quickly. There has to be someone you can go out and get and not give up the farm. This was a sloppy win. Need Javy to eat some innings tomorrow.

I'm not a reporter by trade, but I try my best to make fans aware of things, not to mention offer my opinions. Right out of high school, I actually spent an entire summer at Roosevelt University's Journalism Program, where I learned a great deal about the business, took part in an actual Mayor Daley Press Conference, plus met former NBC 5 reporter Ray Suarez, not to be confused with the 31st Ward Alderman. I'm probably going off topic in this forum, but my idols happen to be broadcasters and writers who make the kind of cash I'll likely never see in my lifetime considering the corporate cutbacks and that those in charge seem to want those who come from places like Des Moines, IA, Rockford, Pittsburgh, Charlotte & Louisville and will work in Chicago for a bargain basement salary.

You really want to bring up a rookie and get his feet wet by trying to get the last 3 outs of a game?

That sounds like a recipe for disaster IMO.

We need a closer that can pick guys off - probably a lefty

Why is this? Since when is it the job of a closer to pick guys off? I thought the role of a closer was to save the game?
