Player's fault. Players get fucked over with Smith in charge 10 years ago so their solution is to let him negotiate the next one? Can't fix stupid

Owners offered a great deal. Players are stupid not to take it.

Terrible deal. Players bear all the risk and minimal reward. Nonetheless when you elect a clown to lead you this is what you get and you'll accept it.

Couple things are a certainty in the NFL :

The Bears can't solve the QB position.

The players will get screwed on their CBA.

Players get more money and a bigger total revenue percentage.

A pittance b/c they got their nuts kicked in 10 years ago. They gave up a foot and are now being given half an inch as some hard fought win.

That’s a meaningless statement. That was always going to happen.

The players will never win because they don't set aside nearly enough "strike money" in their coffers and the NFL knows it.

Agreed, how the fuck did this clown keep his job after the buttfucking he received the last deal.

Why are you signing a ten year deal? So fucking dumb. Then you let the owners out smart by raising the minimum salary so it is guaranteed to get approved since most of the NFL makes the minimum.

According to Reid's lawyer the increase really isn't an increase. Looks like the NFL is looking to fuck the players in just about every way.

Any increase in pay the players see, the owners will see 10x that amount.

The mass of players all sit around the area of league minimum salary. Their vote is what matters and that group is not in any kind of position to hold out for a long period of time. They certainly won't be taken care of by the veterans on big contracts.

This is sad. I'm all for owners making money, but the NFL is incredibly lopsided. Add in the fact that the owners are really trying to fuck up the game with additional games.

Player salaries are about revenue sharing and they get a higher percentage of the revenue sharing with this proposal. The owners can't see 10x that amount unless they somehow can hide the revenue from it.

Every player would be paid significantly more with this. There is a reason the players who already have generational wealth are fighting it. Of course Aaron Rodgers doesn't want it. He's one of the richest athletes in sports history. He doesn't need that extra game. A player who may only get 3 total years in the league looks at it differently.

They do "hide" it. I remember reading certain revenues are excluded from sharing and go straight into the owners pocket.

That's happening now though. This increase in total revenue percentage will make everyone money. The big money players don't want it because they don't need the money. Most players will have much higher career earnings from this.

I feel as if the hidden revenue which is basically the non shared made by individual teams is made up for. Mostly, I think this works out ok because you are in a system in leagues where players are taking some percentage of revenue over 50%. I think there would not be many models with complaint when labor is guaranteed 54% of revenues for instance.

As a fan this is my only real concern. The NFL has a achieved almost perfect symmetry and parity with its regular season and playoffs.. and now they want to fuck it all up because they want to expand. This despite the fact the league and teams seem to increase in revenue and value yearly anyway and they have a great product on the field for the most part.

The NFL is already the envy of most sports leagues around the world.. why fuck with that over a few more dollars? As is, they’re already talking about how important players would sit a lot of these ‘extra’ games because your body can only take so much punishment. It’s just dumb imo.

The NFLPA needs to work out a points system for their voting where players with multi year contracts and much more on the line health wise due to longer playing time have their votes count more than some dude who will only play for the minimum for 2/3 years tops then bounce. People with more on the line should get more say.

Certain revenues the players dont have a part in, like the concessions or parking. Unless Russell Okung is out there pouring beers he doesn't really have a claim to that side of the business.

The TV money is where its at anyways, and they get a big chunk of that. There's just under two thousand players on NFL rosters and practice squads, while there's only thirty-two owners. Its just split amongst two different sized groups.

I think the players have a good claim to part of the cut from the gambling kiosks that are going to be in a lot of stadiums.

I don't think the players would get a huge slice of gambling revenue.

Why wouldn’t it fall under football revenue? They don’t own the books, they’re taking a cut to allow them to run it in stadiums.

The tweet you posted seemed to imply there may be revenue streams players wouldn't split somewhat equally with owners.
