No sign that this team is going to see any of the necessary improvements. Extension to Trevathan at triple market value shows they are still think it's 2018.

Dont see them making any sort of splash in free agency with Conklin gone. Two second rounders is nowhere near enough to rebuild an offensive line.

Looking bad.

The smart play is to trade Mack and see if you can get close to the return you gave up for him

George hasn't been what you would call successful hiring Gm's or HC's. Who's next in line behind Michael and George in the McKaskey succession line?

At age twenty nine? Not likely. I agree, time to blow it up if they're not going to aggressively pursue upgrades.

I honestly think the best course of action from here is to just sign Winston and roll the dice. If it works the Bears could have the division fall into the lap; and if it doesn't work its not like this dogshit aging roster was going anywhere anyways.

It is going to be Dalton, might as well get used to it.

God I would fucking love them to sign Winston. Mitch is better. Paying three times as much and committing three times as long to Winston would just be pure comedy.

Where is the boom potential on this roster? Anthony Miller? Roquan Smith? They dont even have much along the lines of raw talent.

Winston at least gives them a chance to overperform. Of course if they have the NFL's worst offensive line, which they will have if they leave Massie and Leno at the tackles, there is almost no way such a gamble would succeed.

Sundays are supposed to be entertaining. As a NFL consumer it's Winston >>>> Mitch all day any day.

I'm fine with Winston for the right price. I have no use for Dalton.

I mean, seriously, is there a more perfect Ryan Pace choice for backup QB then Winston?

At this point Winston would be the only way to salvage this free agency period

Winston’s more entertaining but worse. I’m assuming Pace is trying to win despite his moves to the contrary this week.

I'm looking for a guy who has a chance to be good if (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky misses time. Dalton isn't that guy. Winston can be.

According to Giangreco tonight, it's going to be Teddy Bridge and he'll come in and start ahead of Mitch.

But then he said the Bears are still interested in Dalton and Foles, too.

Mack makes this defense special -Roquan is young and extremely talented and could tempt someone if they throw in one of the 2nd rounders.. that said a deal like that maybe -maybe- gets you into the middle of the 1st round, but more likely 20th or so. They’d also have to lock up Kwiatkowski too for it to make sense.

Roquan Smith makes this D special as well.

Looking bad.

Conklin had a decent bounce back year was slightly above being called a first round bust earlier in his career. Browns spent a lot of money on some slightly above average players.

As I have previously said, this is a great WR draft and I want the Bears to get themselves some of that in the second round. There is going to be a first round talent level at 40. If Denzel Mims is there, run to that socially distanced podium. They should get an impact, day 1 starter out of the group. Suddenly, that WR group looks nice with Robinson, a speed guy and Miller backed up by Ridley and Wims.

At OL, the fix is to sign an OG in FA. Draft an OT with the other second rounder. Again, its a pretty good OT draft. Prince Tega Wanogho should be there. I wouldn't say he is an LT on Day 1, so I think we are stuck with what we have on opening day. However, they did sign what is reported to be one of the best blocking TE in the league. That should help either of our guys.

no reason to think that guy doesn't return. He was excellent from Week 7 until he got hurt.

They are going to roll with Daniels-Whitehair-Bars on the interior and I'm actually quite OK with that. But they cannot abide Leno and Massie. Both have to go, you may say Conklin is average but average is a massive improvement.

I wish they could draft WR or another position of not-pressing-need but realistically if they dont draft two starting caliber tackles this April their season is over before it started. Leno is very capable of ruining a season and Mitch/whoever at QB isn't going to be good enough to overcome Massie, who is arguably the worst starting offensive lineman in the league.

Mock drafts are consistent in showing there will likely be an early run on LT prospects. Did see Tega Wanogho possibly dropping, but scouting reports say he's a great athlete, but raw which would make him a reach at either tackle position, but could start day one at guard. It does appear that at WR, RB, or maybe an OLB with first round talent will slide down into second round. If they move on from Floyd, they will almost have to grab an OLB early because the FA market is drying up. If Jonathan Taylor is still there do you grab a potential three down gamebreaker at RB. Sadly, I have no confidence in this group to put together a plan as detailed as the one you referenced especially after they blew valuable cap room in the Graham deal.
