The lasik may help him.

I thought for sure this guy would be a stud. He's a great player from the neck down.

Busted thumb on throwing hand last year too.

Kevin White was a bust. Leonard Floyd was a starting caliber NFL player for the Bears every year.

Agreed.

He is exactly the player they drafted. Unfortunately he was billed as a pass rusher but he never was.

He's an NFL stater, just not a 10 sack per year OLB in a 3-4. Still think he can be productive at SLB in a 4-3. Odd that there were only two teams that thought he would develop into anything other than a competent NFL LB, the Bears and the Giants and now the Giants are supposedly trying to sign him. Pretty scary when you have a GM that thinks he's smarter than the rest of the league and has completely different grades on players than everyone else...sadly we are seeing the results of that with many of Pace's first round picks. The Finks model of drafting players that were productive in college over the combine superstars, picking guys with higher floors over guys with possible higher ceilings is certainly not the Pace model.

As far as 2016 goes Leonard Floyd was actually a pretty decent first round pick. Would you have rather had Vernon Hargreaves or Eli Apple? How about Laquan Treadwell or Corey Coleman?

That draft fell off a cliff at pick number eight.

I wanted Tunsil, it lined up great for us.. a stupid ass gas mask pic sent him from top 3 top 12th. It was a no brainier.

I know the Dolphins fleeced the Texans for him, but he's really not that great. A lot like Leonard Floyd is some respects.

I wish he was here, Keanu Neal would help too. Don't let Pace off the hook..it's his job to get that right.

It was an OK pick. Certainly not something to crucify him over, could have been a lot worse.

Yup, if we are all totally honest his evaluation on Mitch is the decision that will always define him. As a GM you get one swing at a franchise QB and most miss.

a 24 year old project with no production in college was not the right pick at 9. it didnt make sense on draft day to me.

Me either, was way too skinny for an older guy coming out of college. Their comp was that beast from San Fran.. never sniffed that comparison. He looked like Kevin white when both were standing next to each other..could have been twins.

Nope. Winston's never come close to the playoffs for a reason. That wont change

Would've shored up LT for years, but I didn't yell at my TV like I did when they took White over Cooper, McClellin over Chandler Jones, and of course Mitch over Watson.

Yup, I just wanted Cooper more and was pissed hoping he would be there for Bears. Memory has been getting a little fuzzy after hitting 50.

Think of all the money and draft capital Pace has devoted to the QB and TE positions since his arrival never to have gotten either group to a league average level.

It just isn't that hard.

The TE room he started with last year (an obviously injured Burton, an ineffective Shaheen, and a bunch of fringe NFL players) was GM malpractice.

On Wednesday evening, ESPN’s Field Yates reported that the Chicago Bears have restructured the contract of starting center Cody Whitehair.

With a base salary of $5.1 million and a 2020 cap hit of $7.4 million, Over The Cap’s Brad Spielberger is speculating that the most the Bears could free up this year is $3.352 million.

With free agent pickups Robert Quinn and Jimmy Graham, and the recently traded for Nick Foles added to the roster, the Bears will likely rework a couple other contracts to give them more cap flexibility this season.

An Allen Robinson extension is a no-brainer and when we caught up with Brad Spielberger last month for our salary cap round table, he thought Akiem Hicks was a good candidate for a renegotiation.

They are still likely to add a starting level safety and right guard in free agency, so once they make some moves we’ll have the news right here at Windy City Gridiron.

In other Bears’ free agency news, they elected not to tender a contract offer to restricted free agent outside linebacker Isaiah Irving, thus making him a free agent. Over The Cap has both offensive lineman Rashaad Coward (RFA) and tight end J.P Holtz (ERFA) as under contract by the Bears for the 2020 season, but the team’s website does not list either on the roster.

I think Allen Robinson wants to test free agency again and is not interested in signing an extension. He'll of course get franchise tagged if he looks as good as he did last year, but that of course does not make him immovable. He was very upset about the CBA passing, I have a feeling its because it still has the franchise tag.

Based on his Twitter account with Rod Tidwell, I think you're wrong.

There are some pretty good veteran safeties out there, even a couple cut in the last few days in Jenkins and Reid. If you don't like them, there are others and it should be a buyers market.

They must get someone who puts Jackson back to a pure FS.
