You can be honest. Winston has a terrible interception rate and a low completion rate meaning you were unlikely to win that bet unless he sweeps the other three categories.

Here's what's also honest: "passing yards" is meaningless without looking at the entirety of the game. So, honestly, if Truisky threw for 500 yards in a 10-30 loss, and Winston or Dalton threw for 250 in a 21-7 win, you would "win" the bet for that game, but, honestly, did you?

There is a decent cynical argument to be made that Pace did this spite whoever takes his job next year.

But the positive part is that the Bears are sending a message to Mitch that he better step up his game or he will be QB2.

Best case scenario is mitch gets better and we have a really solid back up QB in Foles.

I have little to no confidence in that happening. But maybe we will be surprised.

At least it is not Andy Dalton.

The thing about Dalton is he doesn't come with $21m guaranteed. This destroys the Bears cap.

What's not to like? We have a Super Bowl MVP quarterback who restructured his contract so he could play for the Bears. He knows the offense and he's not afraid to compete. With the addition of Graham, I believe this could be a 14 win season.
