Just curious as I sit at my desk in the office in Northbrook, who else is still going in to work?

My office building is a ghost town. My office has about 7 people in it today, but its pretty big office so most of us are spread out.

Had my best commute in 20 years yesterday...under 20 minutes to get home to Addison and Elston. Usually takes 35-50 minutes.

We locked the door and aren't letting clients or anyone in, everything being handled over the phone or email.

I'm considering buying several cartons of cigarettes and standing outside train stations.

I'll tell you something though, this whole virus thing couldn't have come for me at a better time workwise. Been swamped the last few months and recently had a string of depositions and hearings that left me with a pile of unattended work gathering on my desk. This whole break from court has really given me some quality time to play catch up.

On the flipside, this whole virus thing couldn't have come at a worse time for me right now as I'm trying to close on my new house 3/30. As of right now the county is open, but that could change at any moment. if county closes and we can't get transfer tax situated, we can't close. I've got movers coming 3/29. I've got DTV coming 3/31 to the new house. Gonna get internet in there as well if I can, but I can see a scenario where we move into the house and then have no cable/internet for a while.

i'm here, although i'm sure the second anyone here shows any kind of symptoms it's shutting down

there are maybe 8 or 9 people in the building. The only concerning part is we are still open to the public, so far 3 or 4 customers have come in.

I've been working from home the last 4 years so this is just business as usual here.

I'm still in for now...they're working on a plan to get the entire inside sales department set up at home. I'll probably be there by Monday.

Structured settlements are issued to individuals who settle a lawsuit as an alternative to large compensatory lump sums. Receiving regular payments from a structured settlement can be helpful in managing your expenses, however, there are times when you need your money now, perhaps because of an unexpected bill or other significant expense, and the payments you currently have from your structured settlement aren’t cutting it. We can purchase all or part of your future structured settlement payments to provide you with a lump sum of cash to help you meet your goals.

Sounds like a cause for celebration at CFMB.

I am. We are a small office though. Typically only 8 or 9 here when fully staffed. Although "open" to public, only visitors we typically get are mailman and UPS guy. 6 here today, and a couple of them are setting up "work from home" connections in case things turn for the worse. As long as police aren't shooting cars off the road, I plan on coming in unless I get sick. Don't think I'd be productive working at home, plus I need a break from the kids.......

Out and about each day this week so far.

One project on the North side, and one on the SE side.

Lighter traffic is very nice.

what's downtown like this week? I've got to go to Thompson Center and file some stuff. Building is closed, but I've been told I can get in to file work comp stuff on 8th floor.

Seemed like more than 50% to me. Especially south of Washington.

I was down there on Monday to record some deeds and drop off a zoning cert. I was able to park right at the corner of Lake and La Salle and there were several other spots available. I'm not anticipating getting my zoning back before the scheduled closing. Maybe I'll have it in 18 months.

Despite my hour commute each way I am determined to make it into work for at least 1/2 a day, at minimum four days a week.

My whole industry is fucked, my kids probably won’t go back to school till August, who knows what the fuck we will do with them for the next six months, nobody in government at any level seems to know what they are doing, messaging changes every hour, there is no planning possible on a personal or business level - I at least want to drag myself out of bed at 5:50 every morning, shave and drive into work for some ritual sense of normalcy even if when I exit my car I step into a fucked up mess of a country/industry/city.

Reduced numbers at work, but surprisingly ~75% full. My shift is in Training this week, in-plant evaluations today and tomorrow, written exams Thursday and Friday. Only one more shift needs to go through next week to complete all five crews, they may try to complete them over this weekend.

We have not been rolled into on-site isolation yet, but told to get things ready for seven-day weeks, with one day notice to appear. Site boss says they look to limit it to ~160 people on site per week, with as many at home isolated to replace next week. They bought $70K worth of food, and are bringing in laundry facilities. We will be paid for the 156 hours we will be on site, in some form or another. One department is claiming their union contract will require 2.5 times for over 40 hours...

Busiest part of the Loop was LaSalle to Dearborn and Randolph to Lake.

Did you see me flip you off?
