I get signing the guy because he's one of a very select few QB's still in the league who isn't over thirty-five and has willed a team to a Super Bowl. It is basically him, Russell Wilson and Pat Mahomes. If he activates his Big Dick Nick magic there's nothing he cannot do. He won a Super Bowl for Philadelphia.

So the signing makes a ton of sense. The best case potential is off the charts.

What I dont get is blowing the rest their cap space on shitty old players like Jimmy Graham, Robert Quinn and Danny Trevathan instead of fixing the offensive line. They made this very shrewd move but did nothing to back it up and give it the best chance of success.

That he is even worse than people thought? Is that possible?

No, Mitch is going to be injured for a portion of the season because he'll be running for his life most of the time.

Agreed, I think he'll be catching some passes and running some wildcat in the red zone.

He's also not in the league anymore, so there's that.

As long as you are admitting you are wrong about his age.  He is a free agent, so he could still be in the league in anyone wants him.

Even by this board's standards that's a pretty weak gotcha

My point is that if you are going to make a last ditch effort to try and salvage a season from the gutter then Nick Foles is honestly one of the best candidates you can find. He's got the magic.

The Bears are almost certainly fucked. They have downgraded at middle linebacker, edge and tight end and spent a ton of money in the process. They dont have a high draft pick to find a desperately needed starter. There's really no hope, even their mega elite superstar player is on the downslope of his career. They have maybe the worst offensive line in the sport.

But hey, Big Dick Nick has got Allen Robinson, Tarik Cohen and Anthony Miller to throw passes to and that could be enough. Who knows? The guy has done remarkable things in his career it would certainly not be out of character for him to take the Bears to the playoffs. And if it fails? Well Pace and Nagy are both gone and we start over.

Don't forget about Matt Nagy's poster boy Jimmy Graham.

I dont think Jimmy Graham will play after week four. He'll go down with some bullshit injury and never see an NFL field again.

I think he is overpaid but will be more productive here than he was in Green Bay. No reason to think he will go down with some bullshit injury. He has played in every game since 2015.

It'll be a vague injury that gives a dignified exit from the league. Guy is totally cooked.

I'm laughing that he has Quinn getting more sacks than Mack.

Mack's gonna mail in 6 games every year. Gotta account for that

Tre Roberson is going to probably start opposite Kyle Fuller at CB. Not that I put much faith in these projections to begin with, but forgetting about a pretty important player like that is a red flag not to take this at all seriously.

Graham got his retirement check from the Bears. He is done and will likely be put on IR at some point instead of being cut.

The Graham signing was a gesture from Pace to take care of one of his guys in New Orleans.

6.1 wins.....I've been saying 7 wins, so this projection seems within reason.

The 32nd offensive rank is possible, but the 14th defensive rank is way off. We will at least have a better than average defense. Top 5.

The defense should have been better last year....they thew in the towel knowing the offense was really truly THAT bad.

Worst offensive line in the NFL, no starting caliber runningback, no starting caliber tight ends, only two wide receivers worth anything and if Nick Foles gets hurt its Mitch (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.

Thirty-second is probably fair.

Oh and the defense is dogshit too. They are all on the downside of their careers except Eddie Jackson and Roquan Smith.
