Also known as "saving a business". I know you don't care about the economy in all of this.

MLB doesn't need to be saved. I'll buy a team for $1.

Its a good step towards achieving some sort of normalcy. If some people get sick so what, people got sick all the fucking time even before corona virus.

Just give every player the virus and put in quarantine for two weeks. after that they should be good to go.

I know testing is bad in a lot of areas but AZ is dead last.

Abbot just sends 30 of their kits to every team and they can use it every day.

There's a month lead time. Should be a piece of cake.

Any player who tests positive for Covid is obliged to cough on Angel Hernandez and Joe West.

Players are going to social distance in the dugout and front rows of seats?

How do they account for all the pinch points?

-batters/catcher/ump
-plays at bases
-steals
-tags

As USA Today reports, the realigned structure for the league – for this year only – could look something like this:

GRAPEFRUIT LEAGUE
NORTH: New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, Toronto Blue Jays, Detroit Tigers, Pittsburgh Pirates
SOUTH: Boston Red Sox, Minnesota Twins, Atlanta Braves, Tampa Bay Rays, Baltimore Orioles.
EAST: Washington Nationals, Houston Astros, New York Mets, St. Louis Cardinals, Miami Marlins.
CACTUS LEAGUE
NORTHEAST: Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants, Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies, Oakland A’s.
WEST: Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, Los Angeles Angels.
NORTHWEST: Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers, Kansas City Royals.
Teams would play their own division opponents 12 times apiece, and the rest of their league six times apiece. (That’s 108 games, by my count.)

The only reason I can think is if they think there is no way they can play in their home parks for the entire year. Once you put this plan in place there is no going back to normal. Seems like a crazy idea, but if this the only way to get some baseball this year then count me in.

Cubs favorite in northeast. Sox could finish last in that division.

Agreed.

Even if they went to 7 innings or 35 man rosters or whatever, give me baseball. Give me PGA events with no fans. Give me some sense of normalcy right meow.

It's a pretty good time for the Ricketts to be in both the professional sports AND hotel/restaurant businesses.

Joe must be fuming as the prodigal children live a life of dissipation in their far off, decadent land.

I promise you a fly on the wall has heard the term "fucking rug muncher"

yeah I agree.

This plan would also help alleviate states like California and Illinois not letting things happen at certain times. You would only need two states on board.

No idea why you'd need to reorganize divisions or anything.

I thought I would be right there with you at this point, but I'm not. The disappearance of baseball is causing a vague sense of unease but nothing serious. However, if this goes on until June, I suspect I'd feel differently.
