Parkins going after Clay Travis on twitter. He has a big following, most likely conservative fan base, where Parkins is the opposite side.

Who is bigger in the industry? Clay has not commented back. Only heard of him when the boobs thing on CNN. Seemed like a guy who just wants to be a "shock jock."

Waiting for Travis to fire back. Could be fun twitter watching.

Doesn't Clay Travis have a pretty loyal fan base at this point? Parkins is a nobody.

Clay Travis would be punching down in this instance.

When you do shit like this, you have to explain it.

I don't know who Clay Travis is, nor do I know what this fight is about. So explain it when you open a thread like this.

As much as everybody here hates me, I always explain shit when I start a thread.

Apparently some on this board think he’s important. Of course most have never heard of him since he has no presence in the 3rd largest market...Parkins should be quivering.

Think Mike North with a huge southern following and you have Clay Travis.

I was thinking more Dave Portnoy for the salmon-colored shorts set.

I imagine Clay’s reaction to this will be like when someone mentioned Julie on his timeline a few months back and he said “ Who???? “

Yeah, this is a weird spat inasmuch as there's really no reason for them to cross paths. Most Score listeners probably don't know or care about Clay's ess-ee-see lifestyle blog, either.

Parkins wants to have the national following that Travis has. So he goes after him to get some attention. Basically he is doing the same thing that article accused Travis of doing. I like Parkins on the radio for the most part, but Parkins is about Parkins. He desperately wants a following.

Well, he's not going to. His ceiling is a CBS Sports Radio guy who tells you the thing you like is bad and the thing you don't like is good. Portnoy and Travis, love 'em or hate 'em, have some sort of dumb-guy charisma that actuates something in people. Parkins doesn't, because he grew up trying to be this perfect lab-created specimen of sports talk radio host without picking up all the idiosyncrasies and je ne sais quoi along the way that you need to really be a capital-P Personality.

Clay Travis is significantly smarter than Danny Parkins. Clay Travis went to George Washington and then Vanderbilt Law. He then launched his own brand, and became a national sports celebrity. Parkins was gifted a job on the Score, and showed how untalented he is the more we get to know him.

It's the old radio tradition. Attack someone way above you to get publicity. Won't work , no one gives a shit any more.

I don’t see how you could look at Parkins work history and success in other markets and reach the conclusion he was gifted anything.
