The Knicks apparently feel the same way.

Camby to the Clips for a 2nd round pick swap option?

Does seem pretty dumb but I guess the Nuggets have conceded their team as comprised isn't doing jack

Can't wait to see how many PPG they give up next year without their only defensive presence. 140?

That also pretty much screwed Josh Smith. Only team left with enough cap space to make a big offer is Memphis and they aren't going to do that. Looks like he's stuck with the ATL and his best pal Mike Woodson

Wouldnt he be smart to not accept any offer from them and become unrestricted next season, when more teams are expected to have more cap room?

yes...someone will overpay him next year...but he'll have to be on his best behavior this year if/when the Hawks make the playoffs...everyone knows he's one of the top five athletes in the League, but he sometimes is not mentally in the game...watching Hawks games on the Ticket is at least stomachable now, whereas it was awful in the past (Christian Laettner?!!)

This actually helps both sides in the long run. The Clippers desperately needed a post player after missing on Brand. They now have 8 guys on the roster for next year. They have about 3M in cap room to add another body before they have to go to min contracts. They will be respectable, just not in the playoff hunt. Camby's deal comes off the books in 2 years.

For the Nuggets, they needed the cap room to resign JR Smith or to pursue other free agents. My guess is the Nuggets are looking to get under the cap for a run at free agents in 2009. Assuming Nene comes back healthy, they had some flexibility up front.

In the end, it's a salary dump for the Nuggets and a no brainer for the Clips.

Even George Karl doesn't like him...doubt he'll be resigned...

I don't disagree. They might want to S&T, but they need some cap room in order to do it.

James Posey, while he is a good defender and three point shooter, might be the dirtiest player in the NBA this side of Artest....by the way, he changed his form this year, at least his footwork on his shot...looked kinda odd...

I don't see how this move helps the Hornets. They are now tied into a mediocre shooting guard for 4 years while the young guys get better.

He brings playoff experience. He was pretty good for the Celtics.

James Posey showed his worth to a title contender in the postseason. He's a "little things" guy. He automatically upgrades that bench to slightly below average to above average.

I think they are looking at Posey being a starter though which is the reason I asked the question. He's a very good 6th man - I agree, but as a starter, not so much.

Daniel Gibson signed a 5 year extension with the Cavs.

The Bucks signed Tyronn Lue and Malik Allen

The Nets signed Eduardo Najera and Jarvis Hayes

The Magic signed Anthony Johnson

Luke Walton is having surgery on his right ankle.

The Magic have also inquired repeatedly about Jarvaris Crittenton, according to both his agent and the Grizzlies.

Azubuike signed an offer sheet with the Clippers

Seems like a nice pickup for the Clippers if their SG options are Cat Mobley and Gordon. At the very least a spark off the bench. Meanwhile probably was going to struggle to find playing time in Oakland

What happened to Akubuike last season? I thought he was supposed to basically replace Richardson and he got off to a hot start and didnt seem to do much as the season progressed.

Yeah, he does indeed have the oddest rotations and it doesn't seem to take much to get in his doghouse. Last year Brandan Wright had a few games in a row w/ 20+ min. and looked promising then all of a sudden he disappeared.

Wow. Apparently Josh Childress is strongly considering a 3yr/20mil offer to play in Greece.

Sounds like leverage to get more than the MLE.

Lakers didn't match the Warriors offer on Turiaf so Ronny is moving up the coast. 4 years/17M

Keyon Dooling was S&T from the Magic to the Nets for cash and the trade exception the Nets got in the Kidd deal. I have no idea what the trade exception is.

It allows you to trade for whatever amount the trade exception is for regardless of your cap situation

The New Jersey Nets have traded point guard Marcus Williams to the Golden State Warriors for a future first-round draft pick, sources told ESPN.com on Tuesday.

The news was first reported by the New York Post.

Williams backed up Devin Harris last season, but Williams' role grew more uncertain by the acquisition Monday of Keyon Dooling from the Orlando Magic via a sign-and-trade deal.

The Post reported that the pick the Warriors are sending New Jersey is lottery-protected for 2011, meaning the Nets will obtain it if the Warriors reach the playoffs.

I guess that's not a bad backup plan if all their PG plans fall through
