Alright, this works out anyway. Zambrano and Harden go games one and two, and Dempster is better at home. That's fine.

I am sure the Red Sox or Angels will be happy to have the home field. 8)

Your right Chystal. It was a good game. Bud got what he wanted but it was close to being a disaster. You have to protect against this in future years.

Make the starting pitchers go 5 innings. Fuck it if 3 or 4 pitchers don't pitch in a 9 inning game. Who cares?

jesus when i shut my computer down this thread was only 3 pages.

i knew once wagner was up the NL was finished. he fucking blows.

uggla can suck a fat one too.

felt bad for dempster, he had a great inning...was there any other 9th inning in which he looked that dominant?

sox fans, if your team is going to the playoffs, beware of those pesky angels.

my fellow cubs, fans, the only team we have to worry about is our own...which is the bad news. 100 years and counting...

God, what an embarrassing game for Uggla. Great game all and all though. It was nice to see Marmol do well; the way he has been going, I was really fearful that he'd fuck up and lose the game, and that that would destroy his confidence for the rest of the season. Hopefully last night will end up having the opposite effect.

Agreed on all accounts. I think Uggla played that game hammered.
Aside from him, that was one of the best pitched and defensively played games (in the later innings) that I've seen in a while. There's a reason those guys are all stars. Russell Martin was all over the place behind the plate. Adrian Gonzalez made a few nice picks at first. Guzman, playing third for the first time in his career, made a few great plays going to his left. The play Tejada made where he gloved, threw, dove all in the same motion was phenomenal.

Thinking about it this morning, Buck and McCarver were a refreshing follow up to some of the asshats that covered the the HR Derby (Reilly, Morgan, Berman).

Buck acts like he could be doing something else somewhere that would be a lot more fun than where he is at that moment...McCarver sounds lost to me.

Bring back Al Leiter!!

I agree, same goes for when he does NFL. That's the ironic part, based on the night before they actually looked good.

By the way, fuckin' Webb was awesome. Wasn't supposed to pitch, and he comes in and mows 'em down. That guy just gets it done.

If this game is going to mean homefield advantage, then the best players should play alot longer. The NL had really bad players that got 4 at bats. In the last inning they had Uggla, Hart, Guzman, Brian M catching, and McClouth. McClouth isn't to bad, but I don't want him on the field when home field advantage on the line, and I'm a team that has a chance to do something this season. Bud must go.

Ummmm. . . I know you are, but what am I(???)

Cub fans are PISSED and in a tizzy! This is so sweet.

I know that I sound like an insensitive jerk, but I really don't care!

I had to listen to a TON of BS after the Cubs swept the SOX this year, so pardon me for reveling in the Cubs fans' unease.

This has nothing to do with me being a Cub fan or being in a tizzy. I have nothing to be in a tizzy about. My team has one of the best records in baseball and has a good shot at winning their division and making some noise in the playoffs. I fail to see what I have to be in a "tizzy" about.

My comment was directed at your complete ignorance. Maybe the AL is the better league with the betters, but for you to make such an ignorant statement as you have no "respect" for them is just completely asinine.

Thus, you remain an idiot.

Have a good day.

As a Cubs fan, I will absolutely agree the NL is inferior. Its more pronounced as the game goes on. Nate McClouth? Miguel Tejada? How about Dan Uggla? Corey Hart? Com on. The AL second tier included Evan Longoria (who agreeably did not hit well), Carlos Quentin, Justin Morneau, JD Drew, Carlos Guillen and Grady Sizemore. As far as pitching goes, I like some of the NL representatives, but the AL dominated from the 9th inning on.

Stooping to a lower level doesn't make you a better person.

Then why are you complaining when people give it right back to you? "I gotta hear it from Cubs fans" this and that...you feed the fire, plan on getting burned once and a while.

That's all.

The Cubs don't need anyone to help them fuck everything up. they usually do it well enough by themselves.

It's the kind of suffering that keeps on giving.

Apparently I've missed the first NLDS and NLCS in history to be played in July. I dislike the whole homefield thing as much as the next guy, but lets not count the chickens before they are hatched. Besides, both teams had good chances to win the game long before the 15th inning rolled around. The NL twice blew a lead in the game.

Since 2003, hasn't it worked out anywhere where the team with the better record has had the homefield in the WS? Not sure about 2004, but I think for every other year the AL has indeed had the better record of the 2 WS teams.
