It puts in play the possibility that Jimmy becomes Saul at the behest of Kim.

Is Kim the one who breaks bad?

Are you a Steve Miller fan Peeps?

This is a story about Kimmy dub and Jimmy McGill
Two young lawers with nothing better to do

Interesting move will be if they carry out the plan (no spoiler here), then Kim takes the dough and bails on Saul. Saul was her mark all along. She isn't spoken of again because she crushed him.

That really would be excellent.

Trying to figure out why Kim asked to be put on all those pro bono felony cases. Is it to get access to cases Howard is working on?

Loved the secret tunnel. Just have to make sure no one is using the tub when shit hits the fan.

Fake tub.

The show seems to be drawing parallels between the Jimmy/Saul-Kim relationship/metamorphosis and the Walt/Heisenberg-Skylar relationship/metamorphosis.

I was initially skeptical of your hypothesis. But as I typed out my reasoning I see what you mean. The character arcs are different, yet similar. Will be interesting to follow these last few episodes and see how it plays out. If anything is different, the new Kim is drawn to the darkside like a fly to light. She's good at being bad and is getting enjoyment out of it. Skylar never reached that level. She did some things that seemed more self serving (carwash). Kim's motives are still unknown.

Seems to have eased into this direction last night; however

I felt the exact same way. Seemed like a regular episode vs. a season finale - especially not getting any more of the Gene story.

meh season. Gus/Mike/Nacho/Lalo storyline was great, but it was balanced out by the Saul/Kim storyline being almost unwatchable it was so bad. Not good when I find my finger hovering over the fast forward button during some scenes.

And I'll ask again cause maybe my memory isn't too good, but WTF did Howard do that was so bad to deserve this level of animosity???

I think this ends with Howard and Kim both dead, probably at each others' hands.

I liked how Mike wouldn't tell Saul who he was working for (gus). If I remember correctly, Saul hooks Walt up with Gus, but did it through Mike because he had no idea who Gus was at the time.

The whole thing where Walt takes Saul out to the desert and Saul says something about telling Lalo it was Nacho's fault or something like that...it will be interesting to see how that all ties in at the end, will we get more context to that statement.

What kind of idiot has a gun in his hand and lets his family get slaughtered?

Also, how many machine guns did he NOT pick up along the way?

Weird also that a bunch of commandos would be deterred at all by a wall that would take nothing but a ladder or grappling hooks to scale.

He carried out Chuck's wishes to block Jimmy from becoming a successful lawyer with the firm.

Not to mention that your accuracy on shooting an automatic weapon that far away without looking at what you are shooting at is going to be pretty bad, especially if they can keep moving forward. The guy in the back would have possibly taken one, but I think the front guy makes it out. Also, why did he not build in an explosive collapse feature into the tunnel? That's just a cheap decision on his part and makes things a lot easier.

what exactly did he do? I don't remember him doing anything other than maybe not stepping in and stopping the Jimmy vs Chuck war, but that would hardly warrant the type of bile and animosity he's getting from Saul.

Interesting parallel between the ending scenes of season 4 and 5. In 4, Saul gives Kim the finger guns ("It's all good man!"), leaving Kim stunned. In 5, Kim gives Saul the finger guns and Jimmy is kind of bewildered. It does seem to indicate a change for Kim.

Howard is the one who Jimmy had always blamed for his spot in the firm. Even when Howard told Jimmy that it was Chuck, Jimmy never forgave Howard.

Once Chuck died, Jimmy's rage all went back to Howard.

Kim may be the most irrational character in the whole BB world. She goes from not wanting Saul to help her convince a client to take a plea deal by pretending to be someone else to wanting to ruin Howard's life so they get a quicker payout of legal fees the day after she quit a well paying job seemingly on a split second decision the day after she told off a drug lord.

I wondered where those came from, seemed way out of character for Kim, and an odd thing to do to a person who had just survived an armed robbery/execution.

yea, it's a joke and it's ruining the show for me. She's the most unbelievable character in the entire BB universe. I even found the science teacher cancer patient turned drug lord a more believable character arc than anything that happened this season with Kim.

alright, that's what I thought. Howard has done nothing to deserve this animosity.

I think once the series is done, Kim will be the one who was the worst person on the show.

She's beein chasing the rush she got from her con with Jimmy ever since. That's why she holds the tequilla bottle stopper so close.

She tries to do the right thing and be good, but she finds that boring and unfulfilling.

In season 1 and 2 he came of as the bad guy, like he really had it in for Jimmy and was dismissing any thought that he could be a successful lawyer. He was basically playing that role and lead-blocking for Chuck's wishes.

He admitted as much in a come to Jesus moment with Jimmy later on.

I finally watched this past season. I'm glad I waited and binged these all at once. Overall it was a pretty lackluster year, and I'm sure there will be a 2 year wait again for another season.

This is my least favorite type of post: i.e. a poster re-ignites a show thread, making me think that there is actual news about the show, only to simply announce that he has finally, and utterly belatedly, discovered the show.

They're probably going to have to start using some CGI on these aging actors (e.g., Jonathan Banks) to make them look realistic considering it's a prequel.
