Decent first episode. Had to remember who everyone was.

On to Bebbanberg with Uhtred, son of Uhtred, son of Uhtred.

Destiny is all.

If you have not seen Extraction yet do yourself a favor and do so. Good movie.

Well that was predictable.

Nothing ever goes as planned for Uhtred.

I only saw Ep 1 so far, but I really like the fact that they've dragged his son into this. Gonna be interesting to see Uhtred try and bond with his pissed off teenage son.

Was disappointed Hild didn't join in the traveling band, always liked her. Maybe she'll end up doing something important back in Winchester?

Through 4 episodes and I'm curious to see how this will move forward.

Young Uhtred is already buying in to his dad's lifestyle.

The priest is all of a sudden Uhtred's best friend of all time. That can't be good for the priest's future health.

Season 3 of Fauda drops next week. If you haven't seen it and have some free time, the first 2 seasons were great. It's subtitled though unless you understand Hebrew and Arabic. Show is about a anti-terrorist unit in Israel.

I think this season was the greatest.

I have trouble taking Captain Ayub (Gabi) seriously though because the actor who plays him is best known in Israel for comedy. It's easy to take him seriously when you're not approaching it from that angle.

Meanwhile most of the actors who play the unit actually served in similar mista'arvim units during their service.

Some of the Gaza scenes are cool for me in this season as they filmed them in the mock-up they built in the Negev for training. They basically built a replica of the Shuja'iyya neighborhood there and all IDF infantry brigades spend some time training there. I was surprised the IDF gave authorization to film there.

I'm 7 eps in and it's been fantastic!

Ogie, I'm sure you can answer this for me.....

How does Gaza work? I thought it was controlled by Israel? Why are there armed Palestinian soldiers walking around? That's allowed?

I gave up on Fauda midway through the first season. Worst agents ever. They screw up every mission.

Finished Last Kingdom. A bit circular, but I enjoyed it.

He was NEVER that great of a standup. It's mythology that he was.

Up and coming, he was pretty funny.

I saw him at the Genesee about 15 years ago. He was not good.

His opening act covered much of the same subject matter and did it better.

Seinfeld and later his show was always observational. It can be very funny when you hit a spot everyone thinks but when you go cold it is bad. These days everyone expects more edge.

In his later day Cosby was also observational but much funnier in the very early days with a little edge and dirt.

Agreed.

He was the clean comic in an era where stand up had gotten very blue so people like Oprah rimmed him.

I always thought he was a comedian for parents.

He wasn't even that funny on his own show.

I watched the new Seinfeld special this morning. It's funny. There is a woman in the audience with a massively irritating laugh who should have been murdered 10 minutes into the show, but aside from that it was good.

I've started this episodic (6 parts) called Into the Night about people on an airplane who discover that the sun is killing everyone it touches so they are in constant motion west to stay in the dark. It's a foreign show but dubbed over, not with subtitles. It's an interesting concept. I don't love it or hate it but it is intriguing so I'm sticking it out to the end.
