Greinke (7-5, 3.48 ERA) vs. Buehrle (6-8, 3.68 ERA)
Meche (6-9, 4.71 ERA) vs. Floyd (10-5, 3.63 ERA)
Bannister (7-8, 5.24 ERA) vs. Danks (7-4, 2.67 ERA)

Games get back under way tonight. The pitching staff should be nice and rested, and we got our three best pitchers going this weekend. A sweep would be nice, but we should take at least 2 of 3. If we can get to Greinke tonight I think it'll be a sweep.

The White Sox didn't play too good in Kansas City last week, despite taking 2 out of 3 at Kauffman Stadium. The Sox need to pick up where the offense left off, and Mark Buehrle needs to come up big on the mound to start the second half of the season with a win. After the 6 game homestand, a crucial road trip starts in Detroit next Friday for 3, plus 4 more in what ESPN 1000's Chet Coppock refers to as "that glorified pool room" at the Metrodome in Minneapolis for 4 biggies & 3 more at Kauffman to start August. The return of closer Bobby Jenks should definitely help, especially after Scott Linebrink, Octavio Dotel & Matt Thornton seemed to struggle in #45's absence.

I think the Sox come out firing this weekend with a rested starting staff and a restored bullpen. Buhrle throws 7 shutout innings followed by Linebrink and Jenks reaqainting themselves with their roles in the 8 and 9.

I've got a better idea...The Sox offense beats up Greinke & the Royals like government mules & Buehrle goes wire-to-wire in an easy White Sox winner that ends well before Comcast SportsNet's "SportsNite" and/or the NEW Dan Patrick Show on "The SCORE".

4-2 or better on this homestand is a must.

The Sox need at least one from each group of vetrans above to have a killer 2nd half if they want win this thing. The latter 2 did it in 2005, but I don't see them doing it this year. I hope I'm wrong though.

Nice to see the bats get going against KC's toughest pitcher. Hopefully that sets the tone for this homestand. Every batter in the lineup has a hit tonight except Ramirez, who has a sac fly.

So Hawk thinks the guy w/ the mohawk reminds him of Dustin Hoffman?

At least DJ made half of an attempt to call him on that.....time to hang it up Hawkaroo.

The White Sox batted around, and while they scored 6 runs in the bottom 1st tonight, Zack Greinke didn't throw a lot of pitches before they were finally retired after 11 men batted around.

The Twins didn't cooperate and shutout the Rangers 6-0 this eve, so the lead remains a game and a half on Minnesota.

Gavin Floyd gets the call tomorrow, and needless to say, he can't have a dud like he had down in Texas...
