This was probably my best day in the racing business. We ran first and third in the State Fair Championship then headed to Hoosier Park and won a big stakes race with Roaring Good Time.

Serious question. As someone with an undergrad in BioChem, I am curious what she is going to do next. You’re almost forced to go onto med school or get a PhD. Everyone in that field has an advanced degree, and even folks with masters get looked down upon.

I ended up running lab equipment and realizing how little I actually knew. When I decided on grad school, I said no way to science. I had one guy named Art who kept yelling at me for not properly keeping the gas running on the GC machine.

She is the second person in the Mike household to earn a degree in BS

Well done, PittMikette!

New telescope is on the way. Built in tracking, automatic motors. Gonna be getting some astronomical photos to share if the rain ever fucks off.

31.7 miles and 1 cent for the day. That's 2070 miles and $3.02 for the year.

Took the top spot on the Orrington- Lincoln to Emerson segment and even topped a genuine Olympic athlete by nine seconds.

There's no change on the ground in Skokie.

I'm not a regular bike rider, but I don't know how you keep this up.

I rode 14 miles the other day and I still have pains in places I didn't know existed. And there not muscular in nature.

I fulfilled a small childhood fantasy yesterday. I work closely with a number of outside suppliers for my job and am able to get some pretty cool stuff. I had a high end knife supplier send me a switchblade yesterday. Press the button up and it comes out the top, press it down and it goes back into the handle. I don’t know how many movies I’ve watched and seen some thug pull one of those out and thinking how cool it would be to have one. I won’t really carry it much and funny enough it appears you are supposed to have a FOID card to carry one in IL. One of the cool things about getting older is getting some of these fun toys. Provably a bit immature of me but after some people close to me have died in recent years I just want to get things and do things that mean something to me while I can.

Didn’t know where else to put this. I’ve been holding onto a neon St Pauli Girl beer sign and haven’t had it hung up in almost ten years. Just been sitting in storage or basement. Finally got it hung up in my garage and still works and looks great.

Just a follow up re: my Dad.

It turns out he had a blocked artery and the put in another stent over the past weekend. He's home and feeling better. Just a bit tired.

Also, my nephew Isaac has met a few Cubs players over the past week. Cubs are practicing at the same facility. Heyward gave him a ball the other day. Yesterday he was hitting off the pitching machine and Rizzo walked by and said "line drive! line drive!" before Isaac swung. Then Rizzo said great hit after he made contact. He walked by a little later and was watching him told him "best hit of the day."

The kid is over the moon...and he's officially cooler than the rest of us in the family.

Mrs. Post and I have been planning to put Two Post and Three Post in the same room now - five and three years old. So the Post kids have asked for bunk beds. They arrive today and I spent the later part of the afternoon putting the bunk beds together.

When the Post kids got home today they saw the boxes and were fired the fuck up. They ran around saying how awesome it was and climbing all over the bunk beds. It was just pure joy and excitement. Two Post was shoving all his clothes in the drawers that are attached, they were talking about how their stuffed animals are excited about sleeping in the bunk beds.

Mrs. Post and I didn’t do anything heroic, but nothing is better than seeing two young kids over the moon about something.

That's awesome but watch for the lower bunk sibling trying to throw the other one off the top bunk.

It’s literally a thread about bragging about something that little to no one cares about, you witless twat. Fuck this mult and the mods who let him continually start useless threads.

the brag about stuff is old...the complain about stuff is current.

However, the Cardio team thinks his aortic valve may need repair. So, if that's what it is then we may be able to avoid open heart surgery for the permanent pump or transplant. Should know more tomorrow.

Hope everything goes well with your Dad, Doug.

Just bought new flooring for the basement. Getting that installed, getting the basement painted and then hanging the 75 inch TV.
