The 32nd offensive rank is possible, but the 14th defensive rank is way off. We will at least have a better than average defense. Top 5.

The defense should have been better last year....they thew in the towel knowing the offense was really truly THAT bad.

Huh?

We were a top 5 D last year with Hicks missing a lot of time and Travethon gone for a lot of games too.

Mack is in his prime, You are gonna love Quinn. This is a top 3 D.

I don't know about laying down but the defense I believe was really pissed off about the shitty play of the offense last year. This is why I really fear that the team may indeed split down the middle next season and quit. I'll say this once again, if they do not fix the offensive line, this team will be shitty next year and the defense may indeed quit. And that doesn't matter who the qb is. Looking at the individuals who are likely to start next season offensively, I see not one top individual in the entire offense and not one who could start for the Chiefs. Not one. And to further speak truthfully regarding the offense, they have maybe two players on this team who I would consider even average or slightly above average. The personnel are awful.

Why you did not need to send a 4th rounder to Jacksonville.

I would rather give up a draft pick and have Foles as a QB over Dalton any time.

I think Foles would have been released as well. If they had been patient.

Well that maybe. But then you would have to deal with other teams and just hope Foles picks you. I understand why they went after the guy they wanted. Losing a draft pick sucks, but I get it.

I have to assume anyone who prefers Foles over Cam doesn't actually watch football.

I agree, but why has no one signed him? That seems odd to me. Is there more here that we don't know?

That is the spin, but if Nagy has any relationship with Foles can't he go through back channels to work something out? I mean after they went back to Minshew he was done there. Pace is just way to eager to give up draft picks for convenience.

I think it's just because of the lockdown and teams cant have their medical people check him out. No other explanation makes sense to me.

Come on, man. You don't believe this. And I know you've been paying attention to Pace's tenure, but not so much as to steal the motto he nailed to the wall above his head.

Dalton, Cam, Foles, and if you really hate yourself Winston were going to be available in some combination without giving up a draft pick. It's not like any of those guys are can't miss players. Have a list of who you like the most and sign the one who becomes a free agent that is highest on your list.

During BOGO promotions Pace still pays for two.

Rick's right. It's like trading up for (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky when Watson and Mahomes were still on the board. Don't allow yourself to get played by being overly fixated on guys. If you operate like that you need to hit on guys on at a much higher rate, and you need to have great luck on injuries.

The Colts were in on Foles too. A fourth feels steep but keep in mind Foles represents the only real chance this team has of being competitive.

Cam might be done.

He might be but he's 30 years old. It seems unlikely, even taking into account the abuse he's taken as a runner. He's never had injury concerns before this last season.

Oh, if the most overrated franchise in the league wanted him to be a backup...

The only other guy with the boom potential of Foles was Jameis. The Bears dont need a "competent" QB like Newton or Dalton (though I'd argue the latter isn't really competent). They need a QB who can great and elevate the team against all odds. The odds are certainly not likely that Foles will do that, the Bears are dreadful, but he put a team on his back to win a Super Bowl once so there's nothing you can say he cant do.

I'm just saying there was no way the Bears were going to get "for free". There was demand out there for him as a starter.

He's made a ton of money, and there have been whispers that he was not as motivated or interested. I think people are going to walk away from the game earlier than in the past. Especially those who have a ton of money.

I'd rather give up a first rounder for Nick Foles than have to deal with soft ass Cam Newton.

I'd rather have that 4th round pick back and allow Winston to compete with (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky or just waited for Dalton and Foles to be released.

That gif is a bad look but it doesn't look like a business decision. It looks like Cam was expecting the diving Denver player to deflect the ball the other way.

I've watched Cam Newton for a decade now. He's not a perfect player and maybe he really is done, but I have to question anybody who question's Cam's heart or competitiveness. There's nothing to question on that front. Guy's been a warrior and shown up week and after week while dealing with RB levels of punishment for years.
