I think Rickie can be pretty dangerous in a skins game. He by far the best putter in the group and his problem on tour is big holes, which don't matter in this format. Wolff will probably be pretty nervous though.

A lovely day here today so as I was doing a bunch of garage and yard work, I cleaned out my golf bag. I found my last receipt for a round 7/2/10 at that dog track at Woodridge on 75ths street. I can't believe I paid $41 to play a 5 hour round on a lousy course, I spent like a drunken sailor back then. But that round was the final straw, I took the rest of the year off to rest my rotator cuff as I was struggling to break even 108 (when I was playing my best I usually shot around 98 unless it was a course I'd never played before), and then I just stopped playing.

I ordered a new glove from the Golf Galaxy near me, which has curbside pickup, so I'll get it tomorrow. I'm taking Monday off, so I'm hoping to find an open driving range around 1pm if the weather holds up.

In a perfect world, I'd get lessons before I went to the range or even to the course. But that'll have to wait until the fall.

Golf is a funny game. I played very well Friday and yesterday started out well but came off the tracks after 5 holes. Shooting ten strokes higher from one day to the next can be maddening but hopefully I can learn something from it. I noticed I got really frustrated and mad at myself after some particularly poor shots including two shanks. Need to work on that mental toughness. I also tried to pull off a hero shot after one shank that turned a bogey into a triple. Early season stuff for sure. Back at it Wednesday.

Outside of pars on 7 and 8, I did not play well Friday afternoon. 43 on a short par 34 course. But it was in excellent condition and it was a remarkably beautiful evening.
