Truly a great basketball player and coach. Watched him at Evansville with the Purple Aces, a terrific college team. He and Stormin Norman were a great duo in the back court for the Bulls. No one in basketball could set a tougher pick than Sloan. He gave no quarter to some of the great guards that he played against, Jerry West, Walt Frazier, and Oscar. Tough a hell and had a nose which reflected it

He went on to be an excellent NBA coach and I am sad that the last years of his life were the way that they were. He's in a better place now.
