Great job in the ratings guys. It's nice that ESPN1000 finally got things right in this slot. If Waddle would have come to his senses a bit earlier (and withdrawn himself from KAP), we wouldn't have been subjected to the Salisbury/Rosenblog Yak Fest.

Lucky for Mully and Hanlon that they got the morning gig when they did, otherwise their ratings would not have looked quite so good, making them not as desirable for North's old spot.

I echo Beef's sentiments. Congrats to Waddle and Silvy (and Merkin and Billy Z)...my favorite sports radio show. These guys are going to be around for a while.

Well deserved victory for the team here. The show is well produced and it's obvious that a lot of hard work goes into it when listening.

When I was listening to the Josh Hamilton interview, I actually said that Merkin was the best around. They have just had some great interviews at great times on this show. Credit is due and Silvy gave credit, nice play all around.

I think Waddle needs to get his NFL Network chum Deion Sanders on to discuss the Devin Hester holdout.

Deion is a confidante of Hester's and I'd love to hear his slant on things.

What does Hester deserve? #2WR money and Top Kick Returner money? Certainly not TO/Harrison/ChadJohnson coin.

Merkin is the best around. He is the only reason I even listen to that show. JK!

They need to do a Lowe's "Do It Yourself" segment with Randy and mic him while he is booking guests...might be a good as "Would You Rather."

Congrats boys...you deserve the kudos!!!

I heard Mac talk about the dust-up that Merkin caused with Mully and Hanley yesterday when he went over to the Score booth at Bears camp and turned the sound down on Mully and Hanley's speakers as it was distrubing the Sillvy and Waddle show.

Need a breakdown on this one.A great and funny move but I would of kicked his ass.

pizza_Place: Al's in North Riverside. Help me find one on the NW side. I've found good, not great.
I had the privelege of seeing Mr. Merkin at his best this year at the Super Bowl in Arizona. We were the last plane out before the snow hit, and a majority of my equipment shipped ahead by Fed Ex, was stuck in Indianapolis. (Even though I shipped 48 hours ahead of my departure.) As I stood there in the desert making frantic phone calls to anyone I knew in the Phoenix area, and taking stock of the boxes that did make it on time, Randy woke two people up and found what I needed to beg, borrow or steal. "Just go on radio row, and take it off WXYZ'S table. If anyone gives you a hard time, mention my name."

He did that while booking guests. He was like Mr. Wolf in Pulp Fiction helping Samuel Jackson and John Travolta's characters dump a body. The Fixer.

Glad he's on my team.

Stu, Merkin is a booker, not a fighter. He had nothing to do with the Mully fight. The fight was between Mully and one of our promotions guys Brian Pestel.

I think we all agree here...they need to change the name of this show to:

MERKIN, Waddle and Silvy.

A segment once a day where we get to hear him booking guests would be great.

STU-GOTZ and Matty

The dustup was evidently my fault. The Score was broadcasting from inside their RV, and we couldn't see or hear them. So, when we arrived on site, I turned on our speakers at what seemed to be a reasonable volume. Well, to them it was a little disturbing and they turned on their PA really loud. I thought "OK, point taken." I turned our speakers off, and one of our promotions guys walked over to ask them to turn down and apologize if we had disturbed them.

The Score went on to do a 20 minute segment without breaking, so at one of our breaks, I walked over and turned their speaker down. I know their engineer Mark Zerang really well, so it wasn't a huge issue. Anyway, our promotions guy hung around until their break and told them what happened. He came back and said their were some ruffled feathers over there and someone called him a name.

After some CSI work later in the day, I found out that Mark Zerang was just "busting the kid's balls", and Mully and Hanley said "We'd started it" (meaning ESPN). There was no hard feelings on anyone's part, and it got blown out of proportion. In fact, I can honestly say that when they all left, there were smiles and waves. Still don't know who called Brian a dick.....

All I can say is that I'm sorry if we disturbed anyone. I'm a reasonable guy that would have turned it down if they even just waved to us that is was disturbing them. Like I said, we didn't know they were there. It didn't have to turn into a pissing contest with speakers. I certainly didn't mean to disturb anyone's work, or disrespect Mully and Hanley or anyone at the Score. Some of those guys are my friends. I was not trying to "start" something, and I hope there is no hard feelings. I could have been handled better, that's all.

I hope that's the end of it.

As of this writing, I'm forgetting it.

Is that a pink vibrating merkin in his pants, or his bulging rolodex?

I echo what Miska is saying....it was actually all in good fun. We were in our final hour of our show and we heard the monitor of W&S program outside. So we figured if they're piping out sound of their show when there was no one allowed in the gates yet, why not us too. So, we had a little fun setting up speakers and jackin em to 11 like da 'tap. According to what I heard, we had a little fun with the promotions intern not even recognizing him for 20 mins while he stood outside our RV......having some fun with the kid. But they touched our equipment....damn you people!! j/k.

All in good fun....we'll be back in early Aug. for another round boys!!!

-RoCk

oh...and Merkin's good....but he's not the best in the country

nothing like a little healthy competition.
