As the Sinatra tune goes, "The best is yet to come" and I sincerely believe this. Nothing personal against North, but he was the wayward battleship in your fleet. You couldn't protect him and weren't sure what would happen if he sunk. Well, the listeners in the a.m. are back and with both local-nines in contention and football around the corner, now's the time to strike.

Add more "pros" in the vein of guys (and credible gals) who cover the games, have played the games, and can speak somewhat engagingly into a mic. We know you have a stable of talent that has had to wait their turns (paid their dues) but that doesn't mean you can't go after someone who can think and talk but who isn't an ego stroke or someone that you're paying a ransom just to show up.

I personally like the "M" of MJH but the rest of their station is subordinate to Bristol, CN and that means that the opportunity is ripe for you to exploit the changes that you've initiated. If the best you have is more of the same then come March you'll have another Teddy G column that pokes at you. Shake it up now and inject some fresh voices and insights (who says you can't have enough insight?) and you'll grab those listeners from MVP. You've got the Sox and they'll be hot into late September (and beyond. . .?) but you can ride that momentum into the short days of December and beyond.

Give the listeners the next fresh voice, or an old radio vet that hasn't been heard before, or someone who isn't fettered with the "SCoRe" style. Nothing personal against North, but time for the next guy to come along with a little subtlety, a little insight, and an ego that says "thank you" and "welcome".

I know this wasn't a question but more a statement.

Someone asked about Laurence Holmes. I love Laurence, I truly beleive he is a star on the rise.

He's been a host there forever & he's a "Star On The Rise"???!!! Sounds like an oxymoron.

Gotta ask the question, Mitch. If he is this "star on the rise" then why did you make him try out. Why didn't you give him the 10-12 show right off the bat? Just a power play on your part? I get that. It's fun to use power. Make people sweat.
