This post is not intended to make light of the George Floyd protests or other protests. I'm seriously asking.

I've been seeing videos these last few weeks of people looting stores like Walmart/Target etc... We've seen these images for many years now where people will start looting as a tool of protest.

It got me thinking what kind of items do people loot? Do they have a plan coming into the looting exercise or loot stuff randomly? I've seen people loot various things from tv's to toilet paper to mannequins.

So if you were given the opportunity to loot, what times would you take?


For me, I think the first thought most people would have is to loot HD TVs or electronics. But these are big items, i mean physically big. You would probably need to go with your pals to loot a large 70 inch big screen tv say. And even if you did loot one of these, you'd probably need to fight other looters on the way out of the store as they would try to loot it from you.

Also, Perishable items are out of the question. I have no idea why people loot ice cream when the shit will melt by the time you get out of the store.

So i probably would loot things I usually want to buy but don't want to spend real money on buying. Like say a baseball glove or baseballs'. I'd definitely go for that first. I mean I don't really need a baseball glove or bat or ball and havn't played baseball in over 30 years, but it would be nice to have around the house.

Another set of items would be trading cards - MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL. Other than those pokeman cards, nobody in walmart or target ever goes to this area of the store. nobody buys baseball cards these days. so that is probably going to be an easy in and out loot which you can probably get done less than a minute, 2 minutes tops.

Then I'd go home and and start opening the packs of topps baseball cards. just opening packs reminds me of childhood and it would be a nice nostalgic experience.


Again I ask : If you were given the opportunity to loot, what times would you take? I'd like to hear your take.

i guess i can see that if say you have a young family or newborn. Pampers, baby food, etc..

Things without serial or lot numbers that are relatively lightweight, I can store easily in a closet, and easy to slowly liquidate on Amazon or eBay with minimal shipping charges, even if it takes a year.

HDMI cables, cutlery, high end bedroom sheets, diabetic testing strips, digital picture frames, Bluetooth mice, etc.
