Is he in any way related to former Brewer and Sox pitcher Cal Eldred?

That will not happen as long as Paul Konerko is on the active roster.

Nice second at-bat Sunday, only a single but worked it full after 0-2 including fighting off a few.

So you are looking to bring up a 28 year old AAAA player to get you through the pennant drive?

I believe he is 25...and if you are comparing Eldred's minor league career to Quentin's, you simply are not doing your work.

Carlos was a bona fide top prospect almost since the day he came out of Stanford. I don't have the numbers in front of me but I seem to recall .340 one year and .320 in another.

He got caught up in a numbers game in Arizona as they had Young and Upton (also top prospects) proving themselves and they had foolishly re-signed Eric Byrnes. In fact, there is another young outfielder whose name escapes me playing well who the D-backs traded away this winter as well.

Zorich at linebacker would be different, too.

It's the same ass-backwards, stupid logic you're using. It's really quite silly, and I think that dolphin has ably dispensed with your nonsense already.

Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but you won't see Brad Eldred anytime soon. He may be tearing the cover off the baseball at Triple "A" Charlotte, but you will see Nick Swisher at first base on a regular basis before you see Eldred. The White Sox opponent, the Minnesota Twins, have someone you may have heard of, Francisco Liriano. He may be doing great for their Triple "A" affiliate but you won't see him with Minnesota anytime soon either. In fact, there may be a grievance filed in Liriano's case.

What do you think the minor leagues are there for then?

Are they not a proving ground?

Your comment is much further off-base than my suggestion - to bring up a guy that is having success in the feeder league to give him a shot at replacing a failing big-leaguer.

You are quite silly for not seeing the simplicity of my suggestion - it is not as complex as switching a defensive lineman to a different position, and it certainly has not a thing to do with football.

You are just being a smart ass.
Unfortunately, there's only 25 on an active MLB roster, and I don't believe Eldred is on the 40 man White Sox roster right now.

Your extrapolations are garbage, for starters. Plus, this guy has been in the majors before. He his .221 in 55 games in 2005. He hit .109 with a .128 BA in 2007. He's also a liability defensively. Besides, scouting is just as important as raw stats in the minors, and this guy simply isn't nor ever has been regarded as a true prospect like Quentin.

You call him K-nerko so your suggestion is to bring up a guy with 23 walks and 87 K's in 305 AB's in Triple A?? This guy would get owned in the bigs just like he did when Pittsburgh kicked him to the curb. Konerko is becoming a problem but Brab Eldred will NEVER be the answer.
