That's a bit more like it. Two top fifty overall prospects plus Verdugo. Downs is really the headliner.

Chris Sale may end up needing Tommy John surgery. He was sent for an MRI yesterday, and Dr Andrews is going over the results.

That's a shame. Best Sox pitcher in my lifetime. A joy to watch in person.

It's really a cluster that they didn't discover this in October. He could have had the surgery then and been ready for Opening Day 2021. Now he likely misses the first chunk of that season as well as this one.

Here's the thing though. The elbow out in the breeze lasted quite a while. The comeback with the same mechanics is iffy.

Remember the olden days when pitchers just pitched through it? They still had 90% of velocity but 100% pain.

What is the over/under for him going under the knife. April 1st?

Quote:
Boston Red Sox left-hander Chris Sale has no significant damage in his pitching elbow.

An MRI of Sale's left elbow revealed a flexor strain, interim manager Ron Roenicke said Thursday.

"Doctors have advised him to wait another week before he starts throwing again," Roenicke told reporters, per ESPN. "He'll start playing catch again. If everything is good, we'll progress."

The 30-year-old reported elbow discomfort after a 15-pitch batting practice session Sunday in Fort Myers, Fla. An MRI was performed on Tuesday, and renowned surgeons Dr. James Andrews and Dr. Neal ElAttrache reviewed the results.

Roenicke said that neither doctor recommended surgery for Sale

I'll take the over....these idiots will force him to pitch through it to start the season and his arm will fall off by May 1st....so yes, he's destined for surgery. April 1 is giving this morons too much credit.

This was completely unforeseeable, at least before he signed his big deal.

That sucks. Boston is also on the hook for half of Price's salary.

Maybe. If they play a season it's going to be like March Madness.

Steep price to pay in trade for nothing when he hits free agency after this season.

No doubt....and the Cubs lost the KB trade. His asking price will be half what it was over the winter.

Betts fucked himself, he turned down 300 from Boston, he'll never see that next year in FA.

Starlin Castro is on the Nationals now. He's been in the game 10 years and is only 30 years old. Forgot he came up so early with the Cubs.
