Here's what I mean. When there are no sports to talk about, who would be a "door nob" to talk to about other things in the world.

I think Mully would be number one. I think he loves and needs sports more than anybody at the SCORE. I'll put his partner, Haugh, at number 2.

1. Mully

2. Haugh

3. Grobsetin (of course)

That's it for my list. I think everybody else at the station could hold a conversation on other things. So it's just these 3. What do you think? I think these 3 need sports or else they are completely lost.

On second thought, it's actually Grobstein at #1. I didn't think about him until I was half way through my post. His whole life is sports. But it's still those 3.

Yeah. There's really not much to him. Waters don't run deep. I guess the 3 or 4 ex wives is proof of that.

Everybody thinks he's cute and lovable. I don't like anybody that goes through 3 or 4 wives. Something is wrong with you.

I've always said, after 2 wives, you should stop getting married. 2 should be the limit. I think it should be a Federal Law. After 2, it means you suck at it. Stop.

Well, you missed my point. I'm sure Mully would have Bulls stories.

I'm talking about talking to these guys about everything else except fucking sports.

I don't think Mully, Haugh or Grobstein watch CNN, the local news or read anything except the sports page in the Trib or Sun Times. They're just all about sports.

I wouldn't say being focused on one thing is vapidity.

but, using your definition, Professor Flakey seems to fit

I understand it's their job to know the damn sports shit. I'm just saying they have no interest in anything else. I mean a lawyer has to focus on being a lawyer. A doctor has to focus on the medical society. But they can have other interests. They can have thoughts on other social issues.

These guys only live in the sports bubble. That's all they want to do.

Haugh, Mully would be ok, just kinda vanilla
Bernstein is awkward, he would try to hard
Mac would probably the most fun
Parkins still a kid, I guess if you are in late 20s/early 30s would be easy to get along
Spiegal would be the worst. He comes across as a drama guy
Les is just weird all the time

Vito - you need to write a book about your experience in the radio biz with all these sports radio guys.

what went wrong w/ you and Les? He seems like a pretty nice guy but so does murph until you hear from his ex producers.

I actually find Grobstein to be disturbing the way he behaves and talks at his age. It ain't normal.

Let's just put it this way, if I had kids, and he was my father, I wouldn't trust him babysitting them.

Les brought water bottles to the Stadium to fill with free coke to sneek out. He used to sell all the free shit he got at ballparks on eBay. He's seen every MJ postseason game in person, but not thought of as MJ era go-to guy. Current Les is as bad as it gets, but listening for his fuck-ups is better than most everything at the Score now except Mac and Hub, and 5@5.

I absolutely love the stories of Les' cheapness. They are so entertaining and would actually make for a good comedy bits in a show about an old, ink stained wretch. I still like Les.

Love the picture of Les back in the Lee Elia days wearing a self-made hanging tape recorder that he tied around his neck with some twine.

vegan.

Edit: nevermind - I didn't have my contacts in and read the title as "...the BOARD" not "...the SCORE."

My bad.
