Is there any Dan Patrick love out there? We think he does a great job with interviews. We post his interviews on 670thescore.com around noon every day.

Yes, I am actually streaming him live over the web right now.

Issues I see with posting the interviews on your website mid-day:
-They are also available on his site around the same time
-Should people download/listen to interviews mid-day, just takes away from your audience during that time.

Just some observations.

Unless he's changed his pacing since leaving ESPN, he's an incredibly boring listen IMO.

Not really Mitch, he's boring and pompous too. You already have a host like that, little danny bernstein.

I agree he is pretty dry, but I stick around time to time from 8 to 9 AM before switching to other programming.

I listened to Dan when he was LIVE on ESPN Radio before he left. If this Laurence Holmes experiment doesn't work out middays, spend CBS Radio's $$$$ and have Dan on LIVE on "The SCORE", just like on the other station.

I enjoyed those little Dan Patrick tidbits that ran after 6 p.m. yesterday (Above the Noise?) but the Dan Patrick Show itself isn't anything that particularly interests me. I heard enough Patrick against my will during an internship I had last summer; I don't need to hear him anymore. Too pausey. I wouldn't be averse to checking out some podcasted interviews if for some reason, I really really really wanted to hear from the person being interviewed, but in general, I have little Dan Partick love, and I think airing him in lieu of live local programming on weekdays would be a significant downgrade. Thanks for asking, though.

"The SCORE" doesn't necessarily promote it, but "Above the Noise" is a new feature that now airs in the 6p hour weeknights, regardless of who is hosting right after "Boers & Bernstein". The new feature is similar to one of those ESPN Radio "Extra Points" that lasts 60 seconds, and gives Dan Patrick a chance to vent about the big national sports story of the day.

The score promotes themself as a chicago station, but yet Mitch comes here and says "listen to the national show with Dan Patrick", who doesnt even bring up chicago teams on his show, uh?

Mitch I recieved a email from a ex-score employee, they wrote this.

Quote:
Management, equally responsible for the abortion of the station, are worse than the worst of all management. Rosen is more evil than the devil and Agase is completely inept. He couldn't find his ass from a hole in the ground.

Can you comment on that, seems that some ex score employees are not thrilled with the current Managment, again, detailed answer will get you a free lunch. Thanks for playing!

The only few times the DP show was remotely listenable was when Bernstein filled in.

What makes you say he's pompous, self-important and full of himself?

That's nice of you to ask, Mitch. Maybe Mitch is checking the temperature. I'll bet plugging Patrick into the Score's daypart would be cheap. They'd probably pay the Score and sell their own ads so Mitch wouldn't have to worry about anything.

I'll say this, Patrick would be better to air, live, over Larry Holmes.

Put it on 8-11 here. And one score guy on per show.

Here is the requisite lineup:

6-8 M+H or Murph

8-11 DP

11-2 Murph or somebodyunder50yearsoldthatcandriveashowandhavethoughtsforthreehourswhilenotpissingoffthecallers

2-6 The Dan Bernstein Is Smarter Than You Show starring Dan Bernstein and TB's head in a jar in a Mokena bar, like Little Al's

6-10 White Sox Apr-Late,Late, October. As for Nov-Mar, Doug Buffone and Laurence Holmes

PS Somebody tell Dan Patrick to stop humming/sing-songing the bumper music and following those gems with a timestamp! :(

The truly inexpensive route. If you tape delay DP until 12-2, that ripping sound you'll hear is the time continuum being sucked into the black hole that is Tirico & Dan Patrick. Slurp! :drunken:

This is the same Dan Patrick who couldn't beg/borrow/steal lead-in for MJH? He does great interviews?!? Must be why I listened to that compelling show.

Northie too is said to do great interviews (sure, maybe if he actually preps). We'd heard rumors of keeping him as the "interview guy." Well, whatever, but it seems "great interviews" is shorthand for "sucks."

Am in shock and dismay, Mitch.

Based on that picture, it looks like Dan is posing for an album I think I could get at Best Buy or Circuit City...

"Painted into a corner" could be the album's name. But at least he has a gig...
