On Disney+ it really is a fantastic telling of an immigrant that develops the best financial system in the history of the world with some fantastic music.

I've always been a fan of the man from a young kid.

The one with non-white actors playing historically white characters? That sounds like cultural and historical appropriation and that's not cool.

King George steals the show.

But his second number is troubling when you really think about it.

Full disclosure - it's about 30 minutes too long. But still worth a watch.

interesting how we are forced to celebrate Hamilton. A guy who basically wanted us to follow the British Empire.

We should be celebrating Jefferson. The soul of America is Jeffersonian.

But there's no denying Hamilton won out big time - thanks to Lincoln, TDR, WoodrowWilson, FDR, LBJ, GWB).

Talk less. Smile more.

Would be some good advice around here.

Hard to smile with masks though.

I don't think there is a single musical adapted to TV of recent vintage that I have enjoyed more than the stage production. The same holds true here.

Honestly, I think the Chicago cast was noticeably better than the original broadway cast, especially in the Hamilton role. It's his show but I just didn't like Miranda's portrayal.

I loved the show when I saw it on stage. Watching it for a second time on TV, it just seems less brilliant of a production.

King George is really slobbery. The close-ups and HD catches him spitting over himself while singing a couple of times. Continues as if nothing happened like a champ.

Jonathan Groff stated: "I spit a lot onstage. I’ve always been a spitter … I start sweating. I just get wet when I perform onstage. It is just what happens."

I saw it twice live from two different perspectives. Watching the movie brought it all together. There are a lot of subtle things that you miss when it's live. There are continuity errors with Angelica's dress having a flower, not having a flower. The close-ups were not filmed in front of an audience. Groff wasn't actually playing King George onstage when they filmed it, so the guy that replaced him, stood down so the original cast was in the film. Phillipa Soo is from Libertyville. Dead George Washington bows in shame when he realizes that he didn't do anything for slavery when Eliza is singing about living on after Alexander dies.

It's fucking great.

I wanted to see it live....but not for the money it was going to take. that market is what the market is....fine....I lost zero sleep on passing.

I guess I'll watch this version at some point.

I enjoyed it and will likely watch it again at some point. I saw it in Chicago which was great but from the upper balcony you can’t pick up a lot of the detail although you can see how the people move on set really well. Highly recommended.

He swore he wouldn't do that.

He mentioned it during the show at least twice.

It's the Presidents' Day recital from The Simpsons but real.
