There's some fuckin 16 yr old the Cubs havent signed yet or maybe just did? Anyway, he's Arod without the douche factor for sure.

Honestly, I have no idea. There is a vast difference between minor league, pre season and regular season accomplishment so right now his comp is nobody.

This season really won't even provide a clear picture.

Your first answer was better. Dare to dream, dolphin

I am as pumped for this group as I have been since probably the Mc Dowell, Fernandez, Alvarez, Bere, Ventura and Hurt team. 2005 didn't produce this kind of vibe going into the season.

Still, I just cannot count on rookies to carry things.

If I threw all caution to the wind, I'd say this is a team without a glaring weakness, ready to compete for a World Series* this year.

We'll need to win with this group either this year or in the coming years. Glad we got Keuchel and Grandal when we did because I don't see cheap ass Jerry adding any money to the payroll after this covid shit.

He's been trying to give away $300M deals the past couple of years. It's okay to appreciate what he's put together without bashing him.

I think he will have better plate discipline than Cameron (Puckett?) and could be almost as good defensively. He just looks like a 5 WAR average x 10 year peak player in CF. Only injuries or stubbornness can stop him.

This team is where the Cubs were in 2015, they will make a wild card at least from a bad division, and if any of their young pitchers not named Giolito break out they will be tough in a 5 game ALDS.

No, it's ok to bash him for not making the playoffs since before I joined the Army. Maybe you think a 12 year rebuild plan is acceptable, most of us don't.

When the Sox win the World Series in the next few years, will you still be upset?

The best hope overall for Sox fans honestly is if Jerry croaks in the next couple of years and that new owners will spend to win a couple of championships. The Sox could take over a significant portion of the city and suburbs if that happens. The Cubs appear to be on a downturn and the Sox might have a chance to get themselves a bigger piece of the pie if they play their cards right.

I'll be happy if they win the World Series. There's really nothing they can do that will make me change my mind on Jerry's leadership or lack thereof over the past 15 years.

If Jerry dies there is a real chance of a Rocky Wirtz type of revival for this franchise.

Imagine what Covid will do to the Cubs, a team with humongous debt load and a payroll for bad players

Oh, let's not forget there were MANY Cub fans dancing on the Sox grave the past decade. Don't expect the favor not to be returned now that you're in for lean times my friend.

I can't wait for the upcoming Elmhurst Steve post that says the "Sux" will not make the playoffs due to the pitching and young guys needing more development, but they could still get a Wild Card if they get lucky and everything goes their way. That way he can return in September and say, "See I told you so!" one way or another.

Well no matter what happens with the bat he's probably going to be the best defensive center fielder in baseball for at least a couple seasons. So that's not too bad.

6 games in and he still hasn't been held hitless yet. The kid is a true pro.

An added bonus is that Cardinal fans are pissed off as they thought they were getting him.

He still doesn't even look like he's really found any sort of groove yet it all looks effortless for him. Sky's really the limit.

The comp really might wind up being Trout.

it's early. not saying he will suck but at some time pitchers will figure some of his weaknesses out. like they did w/ aaron judge first season during the 2nd half. but judge made adjustments and keep rocking.
