Yeah I missed the 9th, and saw that in the box score after I posted. Well 1-4, what a night.

1-4 raised his average.

I wonder if they had some "slumpbusting" in the clubhouse before the game. Guys in the dugout looked pretty amused.

Cowley had some story about Anderson eating mashed potatoes off Dotel's foot.

Gavin Floyd rose to the occasion last night, giving the White Sox what they needed from their starting pitcher. It also helps that Carlos Quentin & Alexei Ramirez did the heavy lifting offensively against a really slow Livan Hernandez...

Is he sure these were mashed potatoes and not mushrooms?

C'mon Hawk and DJ.

Not one mention of the Griffey trade. Not in the intro of the broadcast nor in the 1st inning.

Look, I know they are both gonna say they love it. I know they'll comment on it later in the game. I'm just shocked, with their audience waiting for them to comment, that they don't even mention the trade through the 1st inning.

Don't you find it weird that Wise is in the line-up tonight. I figured he'd be cut tomorrow. I know it's a righty today but why play a guy you're gonna cut. I thought this would be the last day Konerko would be at first with Swisher in center.

This has got me thinking. Maybe Wise stays and Anderson is cut. Somebody has to go.

Maybe nobody is cut and we go with a short bullpen for a while. But eventually you're gonna need to fill that Masset spot with somebody.

Sox still have options on Brian Anderson I think. They can send him down to the minors. They can't do that with Wise.

While I think they will add a 12th pitcher soon, Carassco has shown he can pitch for a few innings at a time so perhaps he can be that guy who goes 3 IP on some days, if needed. The starters needed to be consistent though, and give 6 innings out so that the pen isn't burnt out. The other thing is that, if they can make it to September, they can add an extra pitcher or two.....Still, you're probably right on what they will do.

While the White Sox have options with Brian Anderson, DeWayne Wise is a different story entirely. B.A. could be sent to Triple "A" Charlotte tomorrow, and the Sox wouldn't lose him. It's a different story with Wise, whose minor league options have been exhausted and would have to clear waivers completely without getting claimed by another team...Speaking of DeWayne, he just stole second...

DAMN METRODOME!!!! Just when it looked like the Twins fans were going to forfeit the game, they've now got the lead on a three run homer by Jason Kubel!!! DAMN METRODOME!!!! It's 7-4 Minnesota as the duo of Matt Thornton & Octavio Dotel can't get the job done!

I haven't been watching the game but was wondering how the Griffey ass-licking is going?

This has to be the longest half inning in the history of baseball. This bottom of the 7th. Gardsie argued for a long time. The game was delayed cuz fans were throwing shit. Plus, the Sox went to the bullpen 3 times this inning.

Not much. They talked about the trade in the 2nd. They just metioned that we got him. Didn't act like it was the greatest thing ever. They haven't talked about it after that.

I'1m sure Hawk is doing a good job announcing right now.

I still think the Sox are the better team and will win the Central. Twins are doing what they are supposed to do, take care of your home.

Jermaine should be strongly considered for American League MVP if the White Sox can maintain first in the A.L. Central and hold off these Jekyll & Hyde Twins...

It's the bottom 8th and Juan Uribe at third throws it and Nick Swisher can't hang on! Here we go again! Runner at 1st for those DAMN TWINS!

Well, everybody is gonna get there wish with Griffey coming. Konerko isn't gonna play much. But let us not forget how shitty Swisher is playing. Now we can focus on how bad he is. God does he suck.

I actually think Swisher and Konerko will platoon at 1st now.

Beardown, I wouldn't rule out Swisher & Konerko splitting first base duties, if Paulie's thumb & oblique are healthy...The defense can't get any worse...or can it?

My girlfriend, who rarely watches Sox games and knows nothing about the announcers, was sitting in the living room as I was watching the game. Around the fourth inning, she says "does the southern guy always bitch about the umps so much?"

I heard some chatter that part of the agreement sending Griffey to Chicago and getting him to waive the no-trade clause is the guarantee that he play center. Does anyone know if that's true?

Nick Punto just doubled home a gift run with nobody out and 2 Sox errors in this bottom 8th. As for "Griff" and center field, he played right with some really bad Reds' teams in recent years, and hadn't played centerfield since '06.

Hawk is getting on my nerves today. I mean, he's acting like this is the end of the world. Ok. We're gonna lose 3 out of 4 to the Twins. Relax Hawk. We've got 2 months to go.

It's just the tone of his voice. It just really grates on me when we lose these "big games".
