Agreed.

Plus limiting your best hitters' number of ABs.

He is the Sox best hitter? Based on what?

Outside of McCann behind the dish, its the same lineup today.

That is a bad line-up? Who says? Where is their weak spot? I'll give you Delmonico but he is a utility guy.

Did you see that SHOT he hit today? I love him batting in front of Jimenez who batting style wise looks like Edwin's young kid. 8) 8) 8)

The umpire called a fair game but he was a hitter's umpire and didn't call pitches on the edges strikes particularly the low strikes on breaking pitches. That forced the Sox pitchers to give in and you just can't do it with hitters like the Twins.

this sounds like a excuse

sox just got outplayed buddy but they will be back and make the play offs i think

!

Its not an excuse just an observation. Each umpire has their own version of a strike zone and this guy called a tight strike zone which is okay as long as it is the same zone for both teams. That's why I said that he called a fair game.

Or maybe the umpire thought Grandal was framing him. Especially early. The strike zone opened up later. Maybe he felt bad since Grandal couldn't keep the ball from going to the backstop.

The late Buck O'Neil used to talk about the three bats that just sounded so unique: Babe Ruth, Josh Gibson, and Bo Jackson. Given that Buck scouted Billy Williams and Ernie Banks, that's something about Bo.

If Robert can consistently make hard contact, he is going to have a great career.

I always thought that Dick Allen was another guy who absolutely killed the baseball. And a right handed hitting Mickey Mantle.

Lol your team is fucked for the foreseeable future but thanks for stopping by.

Irrelevant to the fact that the White Sox indeed do have the worst defensive team in baseball. They ain't winning shit till that's fixed.

They are not good defensively. But they are not a train wreck either. Jimenez has improved. Robert is going to be a fine center fielder and right field should be adequate also when the starter gets back. In the infield, Moncada is above average. And Abreu and the rest are average. They also have the best tandem of catchers in baseball all around.

The way baseball works right now, defense really is a lot less important than it has ever been. The line-up of the White Sox is at least top three in all of baseball, maybe the best. And I think that their starting pitching will show itself to be above average and their bull pen at least above average.

I'd say that the White Sox are at least a top five team in all of baseball and by the end of this short season will probably be the AL favorite to win the 2021 championship.

Plus Robert will have no fear in just going over to LF and taking a fly away from Eloy if he senses trouble. He already did it once on Friday, DJ was laughing about it in the booth.

He's not the best defensive catcher on his own team, nevermind baseball. McCann handles pitchers better, he calls a better game, and he stops balls from getting behind him better. The only thing Grandal is better at is a completely overblown semi-myth. But I definitely want his high obp switch hitting ass in the lineup everyday. And to me, that leaves Encarnacion out in the cold. We have bombers. We need basemen.

That is your opinion and you are entitled to it but you are not in the majority of people who rate major league players. I read the same player evals that you do and I am comfortable with my own evaluations of players also. That's okay and I like McCann a lot. Encarnacion is not going to be left out of anything. No one that has his track record in the major leagues gets left out of their line-up

That's too bad because I want to win a world series and sitting Grandal over Encarnacion won't get us there. He's high end clutter.

Based on what? Certainly not Encarnacion's track record as one of the best power hitters in baseball. I'd say getting him in the line-up 4 or 5 times a weeks is a no brainer. HIGH END CLUTTER is a very silly opinion.

I'm aware it's an unpopular view. I didn't like the signing. The man is 37 and his skills are identical to skills we already have a surplus of and he's taking ABs away from guys I'd rather have in the lineup. I want McCann catching 25 games. Including every Giolito start. Maybe I put too much importance on my view that McCann has a special somethin' somethin' with the staff. But maybe not.

They will rotate three players so that all three will play regularly. The three are McCann, Grandal, and Encarnacion. Its a great situation for all involved. It is really great because you can always trot one of them out a PH's late in the game.

What a terrible call. Still though a bobble from Timmay forces a challenge to be used.

Big year for him. If he cant figure it out and put it all together this year, might look to trade him is the Sox have a lot of young pitching in the minors that could take his spot.

As it is after two quick outs, he is making this first inning about 15 pictures too long. Hopefully he can keep the twins off the board.
