Rodriguez's story is a reminder that the calculus for playing sports during the global pandemic is not simple. Rather, there is a spectrum of largely unknown side effects -- such is the nature of a novel virus -- that could have long-term ramifications, especially for professional athletes whose livelihood depends on them performing at their physical peak.

Imagine thinking that the outcome of a Covid-19 infection is literally this binary where one of literally 2 things can occur: 1. Death 2. Getting better. I mean, have you not read about anything other than these two outcomes in the months of discoveries made scientifically about this new disease or are you just one of those ****ing IGNORAMUSES that thinks it's Republican (tough out the virus) vs. Democrat (try not to let people get murdered by it) ???

People are literally getting other people killed or maimed by this type of perspective vis a vis the virus I mean, did you not inform yourselve by now that people can have PERMANENT heart or lung damage, something that a D-Lineman needs to avoid to be able to produce at a high level in the NFL? Did you not read about PERMANENT COGNITIVE DAMAGE or do you have a pre-existing cognitive damage condition precluding you from being aware of the cognitive damage you can incur by getting Covid-19?

He's definitely free to make his own choices, but football careers are short. That's a big chunk of money to just forfeit and never have a chance of reclaiming. So to all of the complete and udder IGNORAMUSES that think that only weak people or people with cancer or old af people can be impacted by COVID-19, are you going to say anything about Eddie Goldman making this difficult decision? Would you literally say that to his face?
