sounds real legit, how many bank account numbers do you need to provide to get access to it?

I only have one smart tv. So I guess that will carry YouTube tv.

For the not smart TVs, can I still get yttv or Hulu thru google chrome device or similar?

I am thinking about only keeping internet w the cable company but getting rid of cable tv.

I have 1000 speed internet which is their fastest. If I just get this alone its' $100. Add you tube tv or hulu and the cost is almost the same as keeping cable tv without the fees and bullshit charges they tack on.

Do I really need 1000 speed? what is a good speed number for internet if all i use it for is internet. i dont download anything much at all.

a solid 50mbit connection is plenty good for a single person. if you aren't downloading large computer files you could go down to 25mbit and be fine.

If you aren't having multiple people stream and you're not doing video for work, 200 is probably fine. But the question is whether the cost savings is really worth it.

If you're my dad who is only accessing it through his tablet, I could cut him back even more if he wasn't living in a retirement complex. I think he's at 75, and he could easily go to 25 and not notice. But it's like a $10/month savings and I would go crazy with 25 on the days where I am visiting him, so I don't bother changing it.

They're getting to the point where they will soon be reliant upon just their own produced content, which isn't at a high enough bar to make me shell out for the service.

Brick is going to love this!

I signed up for ATT Choice today.

With a doubled internet speed and the Choice streaming package my bill will go from $70 to $100 a month for the next 12 months. ATT Choice will give me NBC Sports, NBC Sports Chicago, FS1, all the ESPNs, and Marquee. Easy decision. When I cut the cord a couple years ago my bill was $170 for the same basic package. Now let's get ready to watch some sports!

My oldest got here last week and hooked me up with his old apple tv setup. I'll be cutting directv the moment my bill is set to start a new cycle.

Free tv is bizarre

The only reason Disney+ hasn't buried them is because Disney won't have R-rated movies on the service.

It's a streaming package though and I am still saving $70 a month compared to when I cut the cord a couple years ago. As a consumer I am still winning. And I was never anti-cable company. I was and am anti-cable company charging ridiculously high prices for cable and internet. $100 a month for internet and a cable/streaming package that gives me everything I want is reasonable.

At what point do they add an R service as a fourth optional brand in the package with Disney, Hulu, and ESPN+? Two years?

antenna tv really is. every show is nothing but an extension of the ads they run. youre just watching a constant stream of product placement.

how much savings is this for you? how much is your monthly bill + Internet?

I still want to cut. but the internet will cost like 100 a month then.

i really dont care for netflix or amazon prime. not many of their shows are quality and it just seems they chrun out shows just to say they have X # of shows. quantity over quality.

hbo is like that too. nothing really to watch to keep the sub.

HBO and Netflix do not belong in the same breath - HBO is VASTLY superior.

If you just want the basics and a speciality channel, I'd do one of the Sling packages for $35/mo and HBO at 15$.

i was thinking of getting the HBO service by itself. the one HBO offers , not a provider. that way if theres anything of interest i want to watch i can just pay for it for a month. like in the last 6 mo, the only thing on HBO i have any interest in was Perry Mason and Watchmen. I can just pay for a month and watch these in a binge in a week.

Strangely enough when I called directv to cancel, because I've been a customer since 03-04, the guy cut my bill down to $39 a month. With no change in service. Then offered that when that period ended, the bill was locked in for only a $15 increase.

Hulu is what $50 a mo?

I use to have direct-tv like 15 years ago. they were great back then. I would call and ask for something and 9/10 times they would give it to me for free or free for like 3 mo.

I heard they have gone downhill fast recently.

My ATT internet is standalone $70 a month. Youtube and Hulu have gone up to around $65 per month.

And I wouldn't even consider ATT streaming packages. The first year is fine but the second year's increase is so much it is not worth it.

i think it's earlier in this thread, but Nas advised you can just alternate with comcast between you and your wife's name every year and get promotional pricing.

youtubetv is a very nice product but $65 a month is getting out of hand. these stupid media companies hold everyone hostage making providers pay for a bundle of crap networks to get access to the 2 or 3 channels people actually want.

I'm switching back to Comcast today. Going to the store to pick up a box later tonight. I will actually be paying about the same rate I am currently paying them for just internet. When the promo pricing ends, it will only jump up about $25 more per month. That's still about $30 cheaper than what I am paying for internet plus youtube tv.
