If that continues, I expect Ramirez to start hitting much better with Griffey behind him. It's going to be an interesting game tonight.

It makes sense. They want to go lefty, righty, lefty.

Split up Thome and Griffey. Make it tougher on managers to use their bullpen. You're right Hawkeye. Alexi gets some protection. Hell, he was batting .310 without any protection.

It seems like a smart move having Alexei sandwiched in between Jim Thome & "Griff", at least for this weekend. Just wait until Joe Crede gets activated next week...

This team clearly needs a healthy Joe Crede, but I give OOOribe all the credit in the world. He has been relugated to part time player, and has dealt with it, and come up with some big hits and defensive plays when his number has been called upon.

Uribe doesn't look that bad at third...He's no immediate threat to Alex Rodriguez, but his glove comes in handy given how sloppy the Sox have played defensively since the All-Star Break. Last night's bottom 8th was a prime example of how sloppy the Sox have played defensively...

Does Griffey have more RBIs tonight than Paulie does in the last month?

Combine his hits and RBIs (4), I'd think the answer is yes.

"Griff" has 2 RBI's & 2 hits tonight. Not that it matters, but #17 for "Griff"? On the White Sox Radio broadcast tonight, Ed Farmer said on a couple of occasions about Griffey sporting a different number when the team comes home Tuesday night vs. Detroit. If Harold Baines' #3 is retired, and Griffey didn't want to wear Nick Swisher's #30, wouldn't #15 be better for the future Hall of Famer? Since Tadahito Iguchi left the Southside, it's an open number...

Frank, since the All-Star Break, White Sox relievers have a team ERA over 7.00, according to Ed Farmer...

This game made me sleepy.

Ken Griffey Jr. made the difference in his first game. Maybe we don't win it without him. Who knows?

That's true... there's no way to say what would have happened with or without him. However, I was happy to see him notch a couple of hits and RBIs as a White Sox player, and I hope to continue to see him do so. My main concern is still his fielding in CF. There weren't any shots there tonight, but keep your eyes open for the next game or two. I don't want to see him coming up three feet short and playing balls off of a hop.

Both hits would have been outs in Cincinnati. That the Royals organization doesn't have the most simple defensive scouting report on Griffey is remarkable. The NL has been shifting their defense on Griffey for the last five years. He hasn't put a ball on in play between second and third in just as long.

Hey!!! Paulie gets a homer in his first at bat. I think he's motivated now.

This is good. Just play the hot hand. If Paulie gets another hit he plays tommorrow. His next 0-5 go with Swisher and see if he can have a couple of good games. This will work out fine.

It was fun to see some of the guys giving Paulie shit after his homer. It looked like the weight of the world was lifted off Paulie. He looked releived.

The old school powder blue Royals jerseys are pretty cool, IMO.

The old school powder blue Royals jerseys mixed with the modern day white pants, however, NOT a good look IMO. :?

This has to be one of the worst FOX Saturday games ever.

Buehrle is getting pounded. Sox in trouble against a bad Royals team.

i'm kind of surprised they did this...i would've thought this was a low profile game tucked deep into saturday twilight games, not in the prime spot.

One extra run scored and that double was turned into a triple because Ken Griffey Junior is playing center field.

Well, the Griffey trade won't matter if Buehrle is gonna give up 14 hits and 8 earned runs in 3+ innings. My God was he bad today.

It's not FOX's prime time game. Few people in the country are seeing it. The Yankees/Angels game is what most are seeing. Brewers and Braves are also a FOX game today.

That's probably true. Is this year a hiccup for Buerhle, or the beginning of the end? That's more worrisome, to me, than the Konerko situation. The only two reliable pitchers are the young guns, who have been very good.

What the hell?

Did Griffey already get hurt? He's pulled in the 6th for Wise? I know we're down 5 runs but it's only the 6th. It's not "give up time" yet.

Well, Wise gets a hit anyway.

I know it was just a fielder's choice, but that was a good AB by Quentin. He is fun to watch at the plate.
