Yep, he's literally robbing sure hits and covering enough ground to make Eloy's defensive deficiencies manageable.

He gets a great jump on the ball, has amazing sprint speed, takes good routes, and has an arm to match.

This kind of knock-on effect makes Robert's impact tough to really quantify. He makes all sorts of things possible.

If they can somehow have Abreu, Eloy and Vaughn all in the same lineup that's a coup.

Vaughn looked ready. Abreu to DH next year, I suppose.

Robert's floor comp without a lower body injury is probably Devon White. And that would mean that pitchers found a weak spot and he could only hit .270/.320/.420 with league leading range and a plus arm. And nearly 2000 games played.

Well, he's only played ten games but he's easily better than both those guys. Ken Berry was a .250 career hitter and I'm not sure he ever hit double digit homers in a season. Rudy Law was a nice player but he was only with the Sox for a few seasons. And I couldn't really say he was better than Aaron Rowand. The guys in the conversation are Lemon and Landis. Johnny Mostil if you want to go back that far.

Those were my thoughts watching him in summer camp. I'm not so sure now. It seems he doesn't want to allow it to get to 2 strikes. He made an adjustment. Which is good. He certainly will have to keep making adjustments.
