At his size, it's understandable that he won't want to play in the heat with that risk and with that restrictive full face shield on. Hell, it's hard enough to wear a simple mask while wearing glasses.

Bears are reportedly also considering opting out of the NFL.

Crazy players are opting out because they don't want to assume the risk level of what amounts to dying in a car accident but will accept the risk in any other year of most certainly being in a wheel chair by 65 or having the mental capacity of Dignified Rube. Strange times.

Is anything going on? I haven't heard or seen any news about practices.

It is almost ominous how little news we are getting.

Does anyone believe this team is good?

Nas. gd. America.

I think the vast majority of the rest of us feel that 8- 8 or 9- 7 is probably about as best as things could go for this team.

I'd say that's about right, maybe a little generous given the lack of offensive talent.

IMO, 9-7 is probably their high water mark with some luck in a few other things going their way.

Yeah, I'd say it's a bad sign when the head coach, who was ostensibly hired due to his offensive acumen, has to fill his staff with a bunch of new offensive "minds".

Let's hope one of the things we hear is that Ryan Pace has been fired....or trampled by elephants.

One thing I am excited about is seeing Jaylon Johnson play. Hopefully his shoulder is OK. The Bears obviously need him to start immediately.

It will also be interesting to see if the running game can improve given the suspect personnel on the offensive line. I have a hard time believing that the problem was the offensive line coach.

I like the idea of using Patterson at RB more.

Germaine Ifedi will save the day.

I like that they put Johnson as a backup on the depth chart. They guy seems to accept challenges with gusto. I don't think he can be a starter on opening day without pre season games but hopefully the talent is noticeable.

i dunno. it's be great to have a one cut back with explosive speed but the last thing i want to see is another gimmick RB with limited running ability be given a lot of snaps. he's going to have to be able to be an effective runner so the defense actually fears the run when he's on the field

The Patriots used him effectively as a runner. I have no idea why the Bears didn't just emulate what New England did with him.

That's very simple.

Belichick = smart, Chicago Bears = idiots

I think they're a four win team and legit contender for the first overall pick.

The only thing that can save them is Foles. If the guy could win a Super Bowl for the Eagles he can surely drag a bottom third roster to the playoffs, but I dont see that as a particularly likely outcome.

Honestly, I'd trade this year for Lawrence (not Holmes). He has Mahomes level talent, maturity and leadership.

They're not a 1- or 2-win team unless they have a lot of injuries.
