Nas. gd. America.

I think the vast majority of the rest of us feel that 8- 8 or 9- 7 is probably about as best as things could go for this team.

I think they're a four win team and legit contender for the first overall pick.

The only thing that can save them is Foles. If the guy could win a Super Bowl for the Eagles he can surely drag a bottom third roster to the playoffs, but I dont see that as a particularly likely outcome.

Honestly, I'd trade this year for Lawrence (not Holmes). He has Mahomes level talent, maturity and leadership.

They're not a 1- or 2-win team unless they have a lot of injuries.

I agree entirely. I am working under Antarctica's faulty scenario.

They will have an elite defense. If the offense can just put up 20 ppg we will be good. They could probably win with less if they develop an offense that has ball control

The defense isn't really that great anymore. Their rush is pretty weak.

Admittedly, I've only seen him play 1 entire game and I wasn't impressed.

What makes you think this is even possible? They were held back by a dogshit QB last year and the only thing they did to address that was sign a retread QB who is the definition of erratic. Mahomes is not walking through that door.

A lot depends on whether or not Hicks and Mack can have bounce back years. Hicks may have entered a permanent state of decline, but Mack should be able to perform better than he did last year. And while I wasn't enthusiastic about the Quinn signing, he will tangibly improve the pass rush.

I do think its worth mentioning that the Bears have the worst offensive line in the entire NFL (by a significant margin), that might cause them some problems.

Another issue is their only runningback that really belongs on an NFL roster is Tarik Cohen, and he's not really a runningback.

They also keep pouring resources into the tight end position and ultimately I dont think they're any better at that spot now than they have been in any of the last five seasons.

So the Bears are league-worst at tight-end, runningback and at offensive line as a whole. They dont balance this out by being outstanding at any position. The best you can say is that their top-heavy secondary is "good" and their pass rush may bounce back, though its unrealistic to expect it be anywhere near as good as it was in 2018.

What did you enjoy the most about the Artie Burns era?

I thought he might have a real bounce back year.

Let's hope Jaylon Johnson seizes the opportunity.

20 ppg isn't a high bar, Mitch blows..we know this. Foles can move the ball and extend all those 3 and outs to somewhat more productive drives. That alone will allow the D to catch their breath and put up 3 more ppg... There's our 20 ppg.

Yes.

Burns is an interesting guy with talent, that I was hoping would do better with a change of scenery.

The offensive line sucks, QBs are a joke, nothing resembling an elite player other than Robinson. Be lucky to get to 8-8.

Hell yeah, if only because of this:

Quote:
His nine years in Seattle ended with him extending a middle finger to Seahawks coach Pete Carroll while being carted off the field with a leg injury.

Seriously, though, signing Thomas would allow Jackson to ballhawk more in addition to helping the run defense, so I'm all for it.

That's my thinking as well. Not sure if he's become too much of a cancer though.

If a team like Baltimore is cutting you over a practice fight, he is obviously not worth it anymore.

He seemed pretty effective last year, though I haven't looked at any breakdowns of his performance.

Pace would have loved to acquire Thomas for a slew of draft picks. Now that he's available for straight cash Pace will probably pass.

Which is why he'll make a convenient Patriot with so many guys sitting out.

No, he would not have.

Thomas is a locker room cancer apparently since it's been reported today that teammates were good with him being let go.

And the Ravens will probably end up paying the $10M owed as well.
