Can we talk about how he has an ERA down in the low 3's win a 4-1 record?

I think he's going to get more W's in a Sox uniform than Quintana will get in a Cubs one. I'd like to see him lower that WHIP, but he's getting more efficient this year and consistently seeing the 6th inning.

I just love his stuff though. That slider comes in at almost the same speed as Keuchel's fastball while Cease's own fastball is high 90s and when he can hit his spots, he's filthy.

the kid's got the stuff, now it's just a big giant headgame to see if he can keep it together while out there on the mound.

i'd read me and the spitter by gaylord perry if i was him to get that little bit of mental edge.

hopefully he has an ike davis injury and has to go down to florida to rehab in a pool surrounded by god knows how many hot women. there's a reason i was big behind #ikedavisforpresident2016 but, per usual, the rest of the world wasn't cool enough to keep up with my bullshit.

honestly, you can do a lot worse than keeping up with my bullshut. speaking of, time to go! hasta

He has taken a lot of strides since coming up about a year ago. I feel his confidence is just getting stronger with each start and it shows.

He needs to stop that leg whip. He doesn't do it much but enough that I'm concerned. 96 is plenty, young man.

I'm going to comp him to Scherzer. He can get you out both in and out of the zone.

Miggy wanted no part of him last night

i loved his velocity last night against le tigre. also that offense got them a big ol lead so he just had to cruise and do what JORR always said you gotta do: JUST WIN THE DAMN GAME. and he did that. is there a metric that accounts for games where your team is up 8-2 or something and you dont care if you give up runs 3-4 cuz the final result is gonna be a big ol 10-4 no matter what? or do the gods of WAR still bemoan stuff like that and lose sight of what gramps ross taught us: if there's a trophy out there i wanna win it. ergo, if there's a game out there dont you just wanna/gotta win it too?

TLDR = #JORRWasRightAgain ask that old jets coach..... herm? HELLO! YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!

He has really good stuff, and avoided the big inning last night.

It would be nice if he could beat a team that isn't the Tigers though.

Pitching takes time. All goes well healthwise, he's a beast next year.

I hope they show patience with Dunning. He's going to get rocked on a regular. Just let him fight through it. He's a pitcher's pitcher. He'll figure it out.
