It would be funny if the Cubs tied it and they played 16 or 17 innings after these delays. It's already over 3 hours of total delay of this game.

It was an 6pm start cuz it was an ESPN game. If it was a normal 7pm start they would have called this game. It would have only been in the 2nd or 3rd when the first delay hit. It wouldn't have been an oficial game. They would have just done a double header.

Once it became official I think the umps wanted to wait it out to give the Cubs a chance to win it.

maybe i didn't tune in at the right times but i never saw an inning of this on ESPN. i wanted to see what assbags they had as the announcers but when i turned it on ESPN it was just BS nfl talk about manning and then about favre.

i know eventually the rain delay cut out all broadcasts...

kudos to mike mckean for staying and doing the stretch. wish the cubs woulda given him more time so he could talk more about working with chris guest and "this is spinal tap!".

We didn't get the ESPN broadcast here due to local blackout rules. We had the privilege of watching it on the fuzzy channel!

You really summed it up succinctly here. "They got shut out by who?"

Like many teams, they seem to do poorly at times, against pitchers with whom they have no familiarity. If they face Moeller later this season, they may well torch him. Who knows, if they had no delay and he stays in the game, they may well have knocked him around in the 6th, as they would have been seeing him for the 2nd and 3rd time around.

That ball DeRosa hit to end the 7th, looked like it was going to make the bleachers for a second or two. So close. Oh well, get em back today.

that's how I got my season tickets...people always ask so incredulously, and I try to explain that at one time, Wrigley didn't used to be full every game...

Sox free fall isnt a collapse yet, because they are still in it. This homestand is a must for them to do well, if they dont and its possible, they are in deep shit. I still dont understand the need for Griffey when it is obvious to anyone who watches baseball why Kenny did that trade and not work harder to get another arm. I said this before and was told I was wrong by Rongey, but the Griffey trade was made as a PR move more then anything in my opinion.

When I was in high school we used to ride the el down from evanston and buy tickets at the gate. The only game we ever had to buy in advance was opening day. I think it cost $2 to sit in the bleachers.

This is more like it. :D

Derosa has come up with a couple of big hits today. Frustrated with Derosa's tendency to hit into DP's late last year, but overall a fine acquisition by Hendry.

It is nice to see them knock Wandy around today, if I recall he has been one of those pitchers that we have struggled against in the past.

Ramirez is seemingly growing covetous of Lee's record Double Play skills.

I'd walk Lee here. No need to let him beat you with first base open.
