Metra Electric Line runs right by the entrance. I might take the trek and see what view options there are

I rode the Electric Line for the 2003 US Open. Watched Robert Allenby get snubbed during a practice round by 2 other pros when he asked to join them on #10. It was awkward to watch.

i think you'll see a bunch of trees from the Metra platform. if you take the tunnel under the tracks that lead to the club you'll be greeted by security and a gate. You might be able to see through the fence off of vollmer road as that shrubbery is less dense in spots.

Thanks bp for the info.Need to check a few golf forums for additional tips. Might bring the bicycle and scout things out.

You should be able to see the third off Vollmer, but I don't know if you will be able to see to the green. And of course the first and the tee box of the 2nd off the rail line, but not sure if you would be harassed for trespassing onto Metra land over there.

In 2003 I recall the course was berated for being too easy.... When in reality rain softened it up for that tournament. I bet the greens today played like they were concrete. Seems like the pros appreciated the course today from the comments I read

Definitely firm and fast yesterday. While the rain tonight should soften it up a bit, the wind is supposed to kick up so I doubt we'll see real low scores heading into the weekend.

Hovland going driver off the deck to reach a par 5 in two was pretty fun to watch.

I like to see the guys struggle for par once in a while. Definitely seems like they wanted to show these guys the course is not as easy as last time they were there.

Could not agree more. Maybe a couple times a year, I would love the winning score to be -4 instead of -22. Not all the time, but a couple of times it makes life interesting.

That was a great finish -- i was grilling some dinner, but stopped and saw DJs putt and was like WOW that was clutch as hell... and then Rahms putt about 10 minutes later, and I was like WOW x10 -- great event and great finish, great for OFCC and great for golf.
