Alexi is just awesome. That skinny shit can turn on anything. He's got a long swing but that fucker is batting .318. It's amazing to me.
Beardown, he's worked awfully hard at the plate, and has played a solid second base since taking over for Uribe in Anaheim. I really enjoy watching #10 play. Everyone thinks Alexei may be the shortstop of the future, but I wouldn't move him from second.

Uribe & Ramirez just made a fantastic defensive play to keep this one tied headed to the bottom 9th! :D

The key to Alexei is his pitch recognition. That's why he can bat .318 with that long swing. He recognizes the pitch quicker than most players.

Holy Fuck!!!!

What a play by Uribe. That was tough as hell to do what he did. Not to many 3rd baseman could do that. Crede couldn't make that specific play. Wouldn't have gotten enough on the throw.

This is a hell of a game. You just have a feeling we're gonna win it.

O.C. singled to start the bottom 9th off Kyle Farnsworth, but Pierzynski popped out & Quentin struck out!

His fleshy ass was the key to that play

I say throw Jenks out there for one more inning. He's been rested. He can do it.

Yeah, Beardown, these ballgames tend to take an eternity to play. I thought "Commissioner" Selig wanted the games to be sped up...Yeah right! Octavio Dotel starts the top of the 10th...

Nope. Dotel. That's fine but I'm thinking this game will go long. Why not stretch out Jenks in that case?

Beardown, your guess is as good as mine. It's not as if Jenks has gotten much work as of late. Anyway, Dotel just retired the Tigers in order!

Gotta give the bullpen credit. I think all the earned runs were to Floyd. Maybe one of them was to Wasserman. Pen has shut them down since the 6th.

Beardown, you're right on the money. Floyd gave up 5 of the 6 runs tonight and Wasserman gave one up after Gavin couldn't get one out in the 5th.

If we win it in the 10th it's fine. But why not save Dotel for the 11th. You can steal an extra inning with Jenks. I really think Jenks could have done 2 innings. Managers ask that of their closers every now and then. This was the spot for that. Jenks hasn't closed many since coming off the DL. Plus he was on the DL for 2 weeks.

Fernando Rodney struck out Jim Thome to start the bottom 10th, and Paul Konerko walked with Brian Anderson pinch running for Ken Griffey Jr.'s at bat. Unfortunately, he struck out for the man whose homer is the reason why this game continues, Alexei. He grounded out to force the top 11th next.

Ok. Stretch out Dotel here. Let him go 2 innings.

You've got the bottom of the Tigers order coming up in the 11th.

I'd have sent Anderson much earlier than that. If he's out, Alexi gets a fresh count leading off an inning. If not, he's got a shot to win the game with a single. I'd have had him run on the 0-1 pitch.

Nick Swisher now in the game at first after Brian Anderson got stranded as a pinch runner.

Jr should NOT be in the game still. Anderson should be in center, Swish right where he is at first. Dumbfuck move, Cora.

Cora listened to me. Dotel is in.

Should have made Jenks go two and Dotel go two if needed. I don't want to lose this game with the bottom feeders of the bullpen. Gotta win this game vs the Tigers. It would be another com-from-behind-win for us vs them. That would hurt them mentally. We did this twice in Detroit.

Too bad Dotel couldn't get their 9 hitter.

Yeah, you have to bring in Thorton to face Granderson. That's a no brainer.

You're right Frank. BA should have gone in for Griffey. We burned him with the pinch running for Konerko. Now it's Jr.'s game the rest of the way.

For what it's worth, DeWayne Wise is still available off the bench. It's a matter of matchups with these relievers in today's MLB. Thornton just struck out a pair, and the Mariners are now leading 6-3 over the Twins in the bottom 6th at Safeco...

Yeah, but Wise is a lefty. If your not gonna sub for Griffey, on defense, with Anderson, then you're not gonna pinch hit a lefty for Griffey. Why would you sub a lefty for a lefty.

Plus the last 2 pitchers Griffey faced today were lefties. They let Griffey hit.

I know it doesn't really matter to you guys but the Dodgers scored 4 runs in the top of the 9th to tie the Cardinals in St. Louis. Woo-hoo!
