Everyone is mad that the NHL didn't go on strike with the NBA. No one's mad about MLB not doing anything. I'm guessing if the NHL did follow the NBA, the same people would just make fun of them for trying to copy the NBA. You can't win with these NBA people.

Where are the owners of each of these teams? Are they just going to let their teams cancel the rest of their season?

They'll be meeting tomorrow morning to figure out where to go from here. I think they'll do whatever it takes to keep their television partners from withholding money.

Money isn't very influential in politics, contrary to popular belief. The political influence of NBA teams pales in comparison to that of NFL teams and college football, too.

Football’s day is coming two weeks from tomorrow. That game very likely isn’t taking place.

Turns out the solution to busting the Government's Gang was just a charitable grant from the 30 Guys Who Probably Hung With Jeffrey Epstein Foundation.

The NBA players never really wanted to play. They certainly dont like the bubble and are very eager to break out. This was just an opportunity for them to do what they already wanted to do.

Add the fact that these guys just aren't very competitive with one another and the commodification of championships to the point where they are usually meaningless...its whatever. I know some of you are NBA fans and will react negatively to this, but its true. I'm glad the Bulls aren't good or else I'd be pissed.

At the end of the day who knows, but football is a different kind of game. Its not a little social club like the NBA is, they dont get together in each others hotel rooms like fifteen year old girls.

That and financial security is extremely elusive in the NFL and guys will seize any chance they can to get time as a starter.

Maybe. It’s certainly a lot more ideologically diverse but if almost every black player wants to strike the season isn’t happening.

I would be stunned if the NFL refused to play. Careers are too short and money is not guaranteed for long and gets voided if you refuse to play.

I think there will be a re-vote with both teams changing their previous vote.

I guarantee you most black players in the NFL will want to play.

It's a 53 man roster. Most of them aren't filthy rich. They're all rich, but we only think about the super stars. Most guys on NFL teams aren't super stars. And have a limited time to play.

It would be interesting if Lakers vote to play and Lebron walks.

Rudy Gobert put sports on the ropes and George Hill knocked them out. Incredible

Well, a lot of the long hot summer has been a case of "it's not really about." George Floyd wasn't really about George Floyd, it was about everyone being trapped while their jobs disappeared and their loved ones died and finally not being able to take it anymore. It wouldn't surprise me that everyone has been miserable and forced to pretend everything is okay when it's not while no one's even watching, and this was the catalyst to get out of something they didn't want to do.

Tom Brady isn't going to lead the charge to cancel the season. That's a big part of this too, LeBron loves to egg this shit on because he's such a drama queen.

I can't see Lebron sacrificing one of his last chances to win a title.

LeBron cares way more about being seen as an intellectual or social catalyst than basketball these days.

I can. It's great for his legacy. He closed his eyes and the world ceased to exist for he was not there to see it. It makes him bigger than Jordan.

Lebron is just being pissy that the Bucks did this without consulting him. He will be back tomorrow.

That would be something. He might do that.

Here's my question. What if the Lakers and Clippers quit. And the other teams vote to play. How the hell do they rearrange the playoffs?

I guess their opponents in the first round simply advance. That's the only way to do it. But they might want to reseed it for the 2nd round.

I don't know. Everything is fucked up in the world.
