Yeah. My first thought when I heard this is Lebron must be pissed he will not get the credit. If any team was going to do this Milwaukee makes the most sense. No one in Wisconsin gives a fuck about Lebron or the Lakers. Some may care about the Bucks and put pressure on politicians to do something. It is at least possible.

I think you have a good point about Lebron. He wants to be the leader and decide how to do things. He's mad that he was forced to follow instead of being the decision maker.

One of the reporters in the bubble said the meeting ended heated and there was frustration with Bucks for blindsiding everyone. That pretty much confirms it.

I think once the fuss dies down they will do one of those face saving moves where they state that they decided as a team that it was in the best interest of the league and society for them to play. That they can make more of a statement by playing than they ever could by sitting yadda, yadda, yadda.

The TV money made during the playoffs is factored into the salary cap. So yeah the money impacts the players.

The NHL either doesn't pay players during the playoffs or gives everyone an equal per diem, either way, their salaries are paid off by the end of the regular season. then there are playoff shares at the end. I don't know what the NBA does.
