Definitely Lebron.

Watching ESPN right now and they reported Michele Roberts made clear the financial implications if they walk right now.

Not surprised by this. Brown and Hill have been two of the more outspoken players on the protests. Also it wasn't surprising that the Wisconsin team saw it fit to take the lead here without consulting anyone else, presumably led by Hill. Hill has said on one or two occasions that he doesn't feel right playing basketball amidst the protests.

Details don’t matter. Lebron’s getting all the credit anyway. Half of NBA Twitter sounds like this right now

The NBA only took a small hit cuz of Covid. I think teams missed 16-18 games. But they finished most of that regular season for the good teams. Granted, no fans. But they got that TV money.

But if they stop playing now, and not get all of this TV playoff money, it would be a huge hit.

If it was more of a polling thing, then what is there to decide? The majority of teams want to keep playing

The owners have to be furious right now. Some like Cuban will probably publicly support the players but most have to be seething.

Like I said, they don't know what they want to do. They're all confused.

I'm just being honest here. Play or don't play. Either way, it's not gonna stop the next racist cop from shooting a black guy.

Then how does this work in the future?

Let's say they start next season. And another ass hole cop shoots a black guy, do they stop playing again?

Nobody in the NBA boycotted the season when Kobe raped that girl in Colorado. Just saying.

Kenny seems like a really good dude. I hate to admit I chuckled when I saw this headline.

When Shaq boycotts, then it will really be something. Shaq is a freaking deputy. He has talked about wanting to be a sheriff.

Shaq still has 10 times more credibility than LeBron.

Kenny Smith, I feel badly for him. But he also runs an AAU team and has been rumored to want to be an NBA coach. So for him, this also has to be a brand move.

Meanwhile baseball is actually growing, despite constantly being buried in the media as a dying game for boomers.

Shaq was pretty clear in his comments that policing has got to be dramatically changed in this country.

I do wonder how much of this has to do with the bubble
If this was a normal season and it’s April , are they considering this ?
Like others have stated, the bubble doesn’t seem too popular amongst the players so who cares about canceling this season , good way to get out

It is an interesting strategy to boycott your own business. This is American courage now. Don't go to work to fight injustice, and to stop the spread of the COVID! Talk on Twitter though because silence is violence.

Wonder if this will bleed over into other walks of life. Cedric the line worker at Amazon calls in saying he isn’t coming in because “ injustice”. Leon the attorney skips his court cases today at Bernstein’s fathers law firm because some moron in Minneapolis blows his brains out while being pursued by police.

It's completely incoherent. There are no clear objectives. We can't work until we: flatten the curve, have police accountability, end stop police brutality.... really we all need to curl up into a ball until a perfect utopia emerges and no one dies for any reason. Otherwise we all need to stay at home.
