In a good news bad news sort of thing my second granddaughter was born today. Tomorrow would have been my daughter’s 25th birthday. Was kinda bummed thinking if she were born tomorrow it would ease that date for me. Selfish I know. Anyway the baby is healthy and all that and that’s all that’s important.

There is nothing like the feeling of someone telling you helped them fix their UI benefits and tell them in about three days their bank account is going to get a deposit from the state for $10K . Especially after during the 30 minute call you where on with them they where telling you they where down to the last 100 in their account and didn't know what they where going to do. and you look on the account notes and you see all the people before you who did nothing but fuck up the account more.

I am now the proud parent of two yellow lab male puppies who were born yesterday 50 miles east of Cleveland. already counting down the days till we can go out there and pick them up....November 21. Gonna be great having them in time for our first Thanksgiving in the new house.

it's been a while since I had a puppy, but I seem to recall they can't be around other dogs for the first couple months until they get all their shots. Is that true? You would probably know that more than me since you've had puppies more recently.

But as soon as we get the ok it's on. Our house touches a really nice park with my yard opening up to a soccer field. Lots of room for lab playdates.

What suburb do you live in?

It's about 4 months, certainly after the Lepto, Bordatella, and DHPP shots...so we could be looking at next spring.

Grayslake, but I work in Lincolnshire. There is a dog park at Jaycee Memorial Park in Deerfield too.

Today my third daughter and her doubles partner finished 3rd in the state at the individual tennis tournament. Last 2 years they have just missed getting to the final tournament of the season. This year they finally got over the hump and got to the big tournament. They went 3 and 1 over the last two days including knocking off 2 private school power houses along the way. I am going to go back and figure out their official record over the next few days, but over the last 3 years they are somewhere in the neighborhood of 80-15. Proud dad and proud coach!

My oldest son got engaged last week. Great girl, fits in well with our family, her family is great, as well, they love our kid. I offered to pay for flights to Vegas, after a week of planning they no longer think I was kidding! Hopefully next August.
