Your theory implies Nagy believes he can deliberately sabotage the team's chances of winning and still get to keep his job. That is asinine. Your Pro Bowl comments is also dishonest as you're well aware of how Trubinsky backed into the Pro Bowl.
Of course he can. Do you believe Nagy is in danger of being fired after this year? He'll get his chance with "his quarterback". How else can you explain how Nagy absolutely refuses to use the best skill that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has both to gain yards as a runner and to get the defense to loosen up on pass defense as they are worried about his running ability?
He even got a new quarterback using a 4th round pick to get him. Bears management seems all in on Pace and Nagy. I doubt that changes unless they go 4-12 this year.
The pro bowl comments aren't dishonest. I simply used it to show that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was at least for that year a league average starting quarterback.
